Got a ticket!!

One of those tickets where they take the picture of your car going thru the red light......1) at the intersection, 2) in the intersection & 3) the plate......

It was on a Saturday at around 3pm, so I must've been coming home from the gym..........but I can't imagine going thru a red light cuz I know there's a camera there.....so weird....

But F$%&^(^*&^(*)(, it's $75.00!!! Jeez!! That's too much!!

I got a couple in Boulder, picture was kinda blurry so i just tossed it. For it to be offical a police guy must serve it from my understanding and its a waste of time for them to do it.
Plus if they ever asked i woulda just said it was my roomy.
After that i have learned to just pull the visor down whenever i go through yellow lights. No Face, No Tickets. Or just take off your front plate.

That is bullshit. Those cameras at lights are ridiculous. How can they prove that you were the person driving your car? What if someone else was using your car... you still get screwed.

If you put those plastic license plate covers over your plates, then it will make the photo blurry. I have seen some companies actually manufacture covers that will totally block out the plate but still look normal from behind.

1) The 1st two pics were of the car from the back & the 3rd pic of of the back plate, my front plate is purely decorative. Around here the pic doesn't include your face...

2) The notice says that no matter who was driving your car you are the registered owner thus you are responsible for the ticket

3) I think in our state any plate covering is illegal (but I'm not 100% sure)

4) $75.00 is excessive IMO

$75 is nothing. In LA it's $341! And get this, they even DECREASE the yellow time to up the amount of tickets. People here either SCREECH their breaks and cuz fender benders as soon as they see a yellow, or they speed up like hell.

Fucked up, cuz those going the speed limit, approach an intersection, see yellow -- keep constant speed -- GET A TICKET!

$341 is outrageous!! And decreasing the yellow time is unbelievable.....but I can believe it...Very F'd up!

That's funny. there was a story a while back about a guy that sent a picture of some money and he got a picture back of handcuffs. He sent in the money.

Also, Do they send the ticket Certified mail? Do you have to sign for it? What if you never receive it?

I think this will go to the supreme court one day. You can`t ticket someone for a moving violation when someone else could have been driving. What if you drive a company car, would Mr. CEO get 150 tickets because he owns the cars and have to pay them? bah

What's interesting GL is that it came regular mail (so what if you never get it?) and you don't have to sign for it (wasn't certified). Also it plainly says on the thing that it doesn't matter who was driving, it's my responsibility cuz I'm the registered owner. I agree with you on the court thing......my hubby says that his company (they have a fleet of company trucks) gets 10 of these tickets a day..........

You know, I'm not sure if they just pay them or not.....I would imagine they would find out who was driving the truck that day & make them pay the ticket.....but still....it's so BIG Brother-esque........

Here in AZ they mail em like by you... you just pitch it and pretend you never got it... after a period of time passes it gets overturned (or you go in and they overturn it) but yeah sucks... here it is like LA with short yellow etsc and they (cameras) are on like every other block (seriously- it is rediculous)

oh also here they record you for speeding too- so if you spped through the intersection you also get a ticket...
