Got a thing from the Post office to sign for a package

I have been expecting a care package (wink wink) from across the ocean and the postman left a notice on my door that I need to sign for it. It says that it is a registered package which is strange to me. What do you guys think.

like you have been told already.........if your source sends it from overseas you may need to sign. some guys do and some guys dont. check with your source just to be sure if he sent it with signature requested.

registered mail is more likely to make it through than non registered, lots of int'l are sending that way now,

Contact your source first and talk to him about it and find out all the specifics on the packaging. This happened to me once with a domestic order and it all worked out fine. I would however clean house before you go sign for it.

Any update on this? I got a notice from the USPS saying I needed to sign for a package also. Was told by source no sig needed.

Going to sign for a package

If the cops are involved they would want to deliver the package, i.e. the agent.

By going to sign for it at the postal outlet in the nearby shoppers at your own time, makes it more difficult for this to be a sting.

That means they are sitting in their car around the clock waiting for you to show up (costs way too much time/money) OR the postal clerk has been told to call them when you pick it up. By the time they get to you, the package is somewhere else (lost evidence)...Follow my thiniking?

You have to be someone big time for them to invest all that time/money.

Anyone can sign for that package as long as they provide identification and the postal slip.

Personally, I would clean the house just in case of visitors, get the package (you or your girlfriend or other), bring it home and don't open it for 2-3 days.

If they want to get you they do it very quickly and on the spot, not after a day or 2..

Peace

Don't forget about the possibility of wiring the package with an AT-4 and waiting for the signal that you've opened it.

And although your comments would seem to be logical, we've seen a considerable number of busts made at an MBE or upon bringing the package back to the car. Remember, they only keep a package at a USPS or private carrier such as UPS for a short period of time before returning it to the sender. Sometimes the agents job requires them to wait....so they do. Not trying to scare you, just letting you know that it happens. I mean we've seen probable cause established by the work of agents digging through a guy's garbage, for weeks!

Agents waiting

Here in Canada, postal outlets are located even in Shpper Drug mart and will hold the package for 2 weeks. That means agents would have to sit around waiting for 2 weeks. It has to be realy worth it for them to do that.

There are plenty of drug dealers around the corner in every city for them to "pinch" if they want.

What happens if your girlfriend or sister goes to pick up the package for you and does not know wnything about what's in it? Are they going to bust her?

Knowledge of content has to be proven for the case even to go to the DA....

First of all, bigp3 is not in Canada. I won't pretend to know Canadian law but I can only assume you're not all that privy to how these busts go down in the U.S. Secondly, the agents want you to take "possession" of the package. Knowledge is oftened inferred. If you were to say, "I don't know what's in that package so I'm not going to accept it," you'd have a much better argument.
