Hey new to these boards, glad I registered there is some awsome stuff in here!
This could be a stupid question but what are conan lifts and beast lifts?

I've heard them both mentioned on here and have no idea what either of them are for or how they are preformed.

conan walks/carry is cradling a thick bar in the crook of you arm. its usually done in strongman comps where you walk the conan's wheel. conan walks are a means of similar training when you dont have the wheel apparatus.

"beast" lifts are basically barbell hack squats, we didnt know what to call them when "walking beast" first started telling us about his PR's, so the name beast lifts was started.

haha Well the main reason I made my own name for them was because the hack squats I saw illustrated online were very similiar to a squat. Where as I use mostly lower back to lift the weight. Also it became my strongest freeweight movement.I believe someone else coined the phrase or something similiar. A beast lift is simply a deadlift but with the bar placed behind the legs instead of in front. It can be awkward at first to get used to. A good way to start is on the power rack, then eventually you can try them off the floor. Theyve been pretty natural for me, much more then a standard deadlift. Hope that helps
