Good Power Rack?

Since you are in Dallas, there's a place over in Farmers Branch that has really good prices. I picked up a Powertec rack from them for a great price, no shipping because I picked it up.

This is the website, but I think it's called Home Fitness Warehouse or something like that locally.

They don't keep it in stock, so I had to wait for a truck to bring the shipment. It took a couple of weeks to get it because Powertec sent my rack to Ohio accidentally. It should only take one week.

Anyway, it's a decent rack, and it's $50 cheaper than most places that have "free shipping".

yeah it would be great to set up a nice home gym!! it will pay for itself in your into training for the long haul.

New York Barbells and Midwest Barbell (links below) would both be good choices, as would Powertec. FWIW, when I bought the Powertec rack a couple years ago there were quite a few sites selling it for ~$350 with free shipping, so if that local place mentioned by another poster doesn't work out (or if it would save you some money by avoiding sales tax), you can probably still get it online without spending much more.

EDIT: As for elitefts, which was another suggestion, their stuff is great and, depending on your needs, might be better if you want a rack with a wider base, closer hole spacing, or some other nonstandard options. But for a high-quality, no-frills power rack at a very good price I'd go with one of the three above (NYBB, MWBB, Powertec).

I own an Elite Fitness Systems power rack and absolutely love it. If you lean towards chain and band use, want close hole spacing and a sumo base, it's perfect. Downside, of course, is a heavy price tag relative to cheaper home power racks. EFS also lets you customize your rack with a number of options.
