Good gawd ....

its too cold i think im gonna stay indoors all today. the cold makes my knukles hurt and chaps my lips.
 
Sure is cold.NE is fixing to get a "cold winter blast"...I hate when it is cold ioutside, it sucks.
 
I'm in Arizona and it was 11 degrees last night. wtf? water pipes busting all over the friggin place. we desert people are not prepared for any kind of weather that doesn't involve sandals and sunscreen.

oh, yeah? well, it was 40 degrees here this afternoon and I had to put a sweatshirt and sweat pants on to go to the gym. it was horrible. I probably got frostbite.

short one- I had on boots rated for -50 C,-40 socks, thermals as base layers,under armour cold wear,two sweaters,a jacket,a balaclava, deer skin mitts and a togue

still frooze
 
Yeah it's fuggin cold here too.. I couldn't find my FUGGIN gloves either this morning... dammit.. so I went without...

(at least the ones that matched my outfit...)

my place in Prescott is only about 1.5 hours away - but it's 3000 ft higher - so much colder.

Phoenix 10 day forecast = mid 60's days/low 40's night.

Right now, I'm about 4 hours southeast of PHX. It's about 10 degrees cooler here.

25 below I had extreme carharts and thermals and was toasty. The outside of my clothes foze and warmed me up. Did I mention you are a wuss?

I could see that. I was down in Fla last Apr with my M.I.L. They were wearing jackets & sweaters while I was walking around in shorts & a muskle shoirt.
 
I went to Scottsdale for a week in October and could not handle the heat!

Fact: started in Orlando this morning .....by time i left it was in the 60's...drove 240 miles north to savannah....it dropped over 20 degrees...talk about SUCKING when it was time to refuel the ol truck......and when i got home i realized I was out of FIREWOOD>>>>>>>>>>>>

Limits your mobility for one. The wrong layers trap moisture next to your skin as well, keeping you cool.
Invest in a decent base layer and soft shell to wear under your work clothes.
Liner socks with a wool outer sock too. Never pack your feet so tight you cannot wiggle your toes with some freedom. Keep you feet and neck warm and you are golden.

i wear underarmour as a base layer for my uper half and micro fleece for the lower half then stack sweaters and wear a work jackets,socks I have -40 rated socks with woolies over top,and plenty of wiggle room

I just may be a nancy,but ill take your advices

When I lived in Ohio I would walk around in shorts, a tshirt, flip flops in high 20's low 30's...but living in savannah the past 10 yrs...got that ol thin skin syndrome....

AHHH, you've grown soft. I am just amused lately with all the whining about the cold. I wouldn't mind living someplace warm, but work always finds me in the cold.

It's funny, in the fall, when it was getting below 10, I was feeling the cold. Now that it's getting to -10ish, I don't seem to feel it as much.

15 below last week with a clear sky at night I was feeling the cold. Especialy with wet feet.
25 below with the wind chill I was sweating in my clothes, just my face got froze. wind burn on the lips plus dehydration suck. Apparently, I am growing new ones now.

It snowed out here today and it was actually really nice out..Calm before the storm because it is due to get real cold again.
