Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below my friend Anthony Daresso, age 44, was competing at the masters national show in pittsburgh this week end. He died back stage yesterday just before going on . The details I have for know are second hand, I will speak to another friend soon who was with him when it happened . He grabbed his chest and fell over backward, Heart attack, attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Anthony was form Johnston RI, and owned 2 houses in Warwick, were he was living. He was a personal trainer, and helped many people, including myself, he had many friends, and will be missed by all. The gym will not be the same without him. ( golds in providence) a few years back he won the New England's in Boston open heavyweight NPC 1st place. He was a real good guy, who wanted to do one last show, I saw him the day before he flew out for pitt, he looked incredible, I thought for sure he would win the show. SAD.

honestly, I don't know what his exact, protocol was the pre show day. But when this happens at or so close to a show, I think the likely cause has to do with dehydration, electrolytes, potassium. Possible worsened by diuretics.
Like I said all I can do is guess at this point.
