Good $8-$10 Wine, lost previous thread

Hey all, im just trying to find a good 8-10 dollar bottle of wine, i like Pinot Gringo, and have tried a Pinot Noir which i didnt like at all, it was a red wine. Im a novice to wine drinking and need some suggestions for a decent bottle of wine. Anyone connisours out there? If you can suggest a decent wine could you tell me if its a red or white wine? are those the only 2 tyoes are red and white wine? thanks!

For casual drinking and not a fancy dinner or date, I would go with a Robert Mondavi, Ecco Domani, Kendal Jackson, Rioja or Ruffino. There are others but those are what I seem to buy the most of. As for color preference, I always drink red. Pinot Grigio my favorite white wine but I still think it is too sweet.
The reds I drink go from the sweeter to dryer.. (Cabs, Merlots, Shiraz, Chianti)

LOL I think you mean Pinot Grigio...
My wife is a huge wine conooisour and she likes Yellow Tail, red and white

yes yes, this si what i ment, haha well ask your wife what else she likes because i liked the yellow tail Pinot Grigio, whats she think of perry/pear wines? so far i havent been impressed with any red wines

My favs r cabernets, pinot noirs and chianti. I only drink red and have found that as a general rule of thumb most stuff in the 8-10$ range from california is usually decent.

cisco, night train express, irish wild rose, and thunderbird.

nothing says class like strawberry banana.

I wasn't crazy about that.....

I have a liquor store with a wine guy I trust - he's never steered me wrong & has given me some good wines for that price & wasn't snotty about asking for an under $10 bottle of wine....might want to check into that....

Ecco Domani is the status quo

Spend a few more bucks and get Ruffino - my FAVORITE inexpensive wine. Pinot and Chianti from Ruffino are fantastic

cisco was under investigation back in the day because they were under suspicion of putting substances in their wine which would never be listed on the ingredients label.

that shit turns your mouth numb.

the caveat is that you have to like red wines(Syrah's specifically) to like it in most cases

damn

I don't know what wine costs in the US... translating that it would be something liuke:

-Alsace
Pinto gris
Gewürztraminer
Riesling

-Italian
Barolo
Rosso di Montalcino (add 30+ and you could be drinking some Brunello too)

Spanish
Ribera del Duero (any will do)
Tempranillo
Rioja (for example Marques de Caceres)
Penedes (like Sangre de Toro)

I don't dig French Wine.

Notice those are mostly grape-varieties (unless noted as an example), so you can choose the brand yourself

Casillero Del Diablo cabernet and merlot can be found at $7 a bottle.
