Yes I know it is still months away, for me anyways!!!

Got a line of new sticks, don't really need them but the deal is too good to pass up. Figure it can't hurt ot have another set, my blades are hard to hit when i don't play much and iwth the kid coming I won't be swinging them often this year. Anyone hit the X-16 Pro series?

I am also looking for a new 3 wood. Whatcha guys hitting. I will go swing some in the next couple of weeks to see what I like.

who makes it? so much new stuff coming out anymore its hard to keep up, next time i get a drvier its going to be a taylor made for sure, ive been looking at the 540xd and 580xd, i dont think i want the R7 even though its very hot, i think either 500 series driver would be fine for me

Callaway makes the x-16, nice clubs. They are last years model as the x-18 is out this year.

The 500's are nice, my cousin has the 580 and I have hit it quite abit.

i think im the only person in the world that doesnt like callaway irons, i dont like how they look at address, its too "thick" of an iron for me, their drivers i like a lot though, ive used about 3 different models of them

I am with you on this about Callways as wells. The Pro Series has a thin top line and its almost like looking down on a blade iron.

The R7 is a sweet driver, but a heavy price tag. It is very hot, partially due to Vijay's success. I personally have the Ben Hogan APEX irons and the Bertha Hawk Eye woods. Golf is goooood. Played at the Doral last month when I went home and shat an 83 at the Blue course, which was decent. Then I played at the Links in Key Biscayne and shot an 86. When I lived in FL, my game was tight. Now it is not :(

Yea the R7 is sweet.

I am going to keep my 983K for another year or two as I am happy with it.

I love the Apex's I used them a year ago when someone broke into my trunk and I couldn't get my Titleists out of it.

sweet Big dawg i got mine custom made last year from a guy i know. i cant wait to go to palm springs tommorow to golf

I'm jonesing to get out and play... I only started last year so I'm still learning, but I played a boatload last summer (just about every week for about 3-4 months). I kinda got burned out towards the end but I'm ready to go now.

That's the same way I thought when I was looking for new clubs. I looked at that 3 iron the first time and thought, There is no way I can hit this shovel!

As soon as I hit it, I was amazed at how far and accurate I hit it. I have an old set of original Callaways 1-SW. There is no way I could ever sell these clubs. I have tried to hit the newer Callaways but imo the originals are by far the best club Callaway ever made.

The only problem I have now is that they need to be reshafted and finding the RCH-90 shafts are next to impossible. I'm still a little apprehensive about reshafting but i know it has to be done. I just have to find a shaft that is basically the same as what I have now.

BigDawg, look for something in the Titliest line for a 3 wood. Of course, the 970 3-wood would be ideal although you are talking about major bucks on that one. I think Titleist has the best 3 wood design out there and the 975 or the 980 are good ones.

Here is the 970 I am talking about....

LOL that970 is the exact one I have been looking at. They are sweet and hard to come by, not sure if I will spend that rigth now until after the baby and I am working again.

I can get a 980 line cheap, I love my 985K driver so I will test hit some 3 woods.

lol...I can't believe that 970 is only $530.00. I have seen them go for much more than that. I just can't let myself put that much into one club. The other clubs are good ones though.

985K is an awesome driver. Right now, I am playing with a Callaway Hawkeye VFT 9* and I love it. Only driver I have been able to hit consistantly. I have a friend with a 985K with a Graffaloy stiff (red shaft) and he can boom them way past me but most of the time he is a mental midget and fucks everything else up after the drive....:FRlol:

I can't stand those thick irons, I play MP-33's. Still play my 975D driver. 3 wood is Titelist as well. I have yet to find another driver I like, they're all too big now.

I hate the thick ones as well but like I mentioned the Pro series have a thin top line.

im very lucky with golf, the only sport i was really good at, i was #1 on my high school team, i rarely play anymore though, it takes me about 4 buckets of range balls within a week to get me hitting it pure again, and i can go out without much of a problem and shoot in the 70s (usually high, but sometimes a 74 will sneak in there) i am a very good putter, my chipping is not the best though when i take a long layoff, thats where i seem to lose it the most

Callaways feel too light as well. I grew up playing my grandfather's old forged irons, so I'm just used to the feel. It just makes my timing off. Callaways are really forgiving, though. One of my buddies bought them after he wasn't playing for a while and his game didn't suffer too much. Even when he'd whiff it a bit they gave him decent distance. The season's got to be pretty short in Canada, eh?

I like the 3 wood Sonartec makes, and the king cobra 3 is nice too (both with the right shaft). I like the titleist that you guys have linked there, but have hit other 3's more pure in the past, so I'd never blow $500 on that one...
