i just bought a set of clubs from a guy i work with , but it doesnt have a putter . what is a good affordable putter ??

something you are comfortable with
if you go to a golf shop to buy one, most of them have putting greens in there where you can try them out, buy the one that feels the best to you

the "hot" putters on the tour are the odyssey 3 ball putter or a titlest scotty cameron putter, but both of those are at least 150 each

what kind of stuff should i look for in a putter , i really have no clue whatsoever

OMG when I was on the golf team in high school I had an odyssey. then honestly I switched up to an old blade putter from a mini golf course and since then I have putted better than ever. seriously.

the only things i look for is
when i set up to the putt, does the putter look good (not a cosmetic look good but more of an alignment look good), does it look aligned to where im aiming, do i feel confident over the ball
after that i would consider how it feels when putting it
and the most important part is are you making a lot of putts with it
there is no best putter
its how you putt with it that counts

bingo, and this proves the point that there in no best brand of putter, its how well you do with a putter that counts
im also very good with the blade putters, i have tons of confidence with them for some reason

cool thanks guys , so its more about how comfortable you are with the putter vs the type of putter

yeah man. if you are a shitty golfer, you are a shitty golfer. giving a blind man glasses doesnt make him see any better.

you got that right
you give a shitty golfer a taylor made r7 quad driver and he will still hit shitty drives with it

Nice putter.

I had this one years ago and I loaned it to my roommate from college and all I got back was the head. I almost didn't get that back either. I didn't even ask him what happened.

i think floyd used to use the ram too, not positive though

I think he did too.

The one I am using now is the Wilson Ben Crenshaw used or still uses. It just feels so right when I set up with it.
