I just reassessed a client who has been training w/me 2 weeks to the day.. He's a young kid (21) totally sedentary, quickly losing muscle mass and growing a baby keg, dr told him his cholesteral was high: basically a heartattack waiting to happen. He's only 5'5 and weighed in at 220!!!
When he got on the scale this am I gulped as his weight actually increased by 2 pounds. My first question was, "ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE LISTENING TO MY ADVICE?" He said, "Of course I am." Long story short, the proof was in the tape measure - he gained two inches in his shoulders, an inch in his chest, a whopping 2 inches in his quads and an an inch or so in his arms. His midsection (he has classic male fat distribution - HYUGE GUT LOL) The total loss of three measurements across his midsection - above the navel, navel level and hips - OVER FOUR INCHES!!!) - So he gained a lean mass and obviously lost bodyfat!
All the MEN in the gym (my colleagues) are asking my advice about diet and training.
This in conjunction with all the lovely thank you cards that I am getting from the teachers at school and all the requests for me to go to all the other teachers' classes (for giving presentations of my books and artwork, it is part of the school curriculum for the kids to write and illustrate their own "books", gets the kids excited about reading and writing) keeps me from losing faith.
Just wanted to share something positive with you all.
Safe and happy holidays to you all!
