GOLEAN Kashi cereal

Puddles

New member
I don't like oatmeal and found GoLean cereals to be a good alternative for mornings...much better than regular cereal. It can be eaten with protein powder instead of just milk. They have a few varieties, but this is for the plain one:

GoLean - Protein/High Fiber Cereal & Snack

Serving Size 3/4 cup

Cal. 120
Cal. from fat 10
Total Fat 1g
Saturated Fat 0
Sodium 35mg
Total carbs 28g
Dietary Fiber 10g
Soluble Fiber 1g
Insoluble Fiber 9 g
Sugars 7g
Progein 8g

Ingredients: Soy Protein, Soy Grits, Corn Bran, Corn, Evaporated Cane Juice, Honey, Whole Oats, Long Grain Brown Rice, Whole Rye, Whole Hard Red Winter Wheat, Whole Triticale, Whole Buckwheat, Whole Barley, Wheat Bran, Oat Bran, Sesame Seeds, Salt, Annatto

That's some serious fiber!

I know several people who love this stuff. I've seen it at the store (while my kids argue and beg on the cereal aisle).

Good reminder.....

the golean crunch has way too much sugar.... and the protien sucks (soy)

try fiber one or bran cereal with some strawberries and FF milk

dude, kashi cereals give you SOOO much fart power.

So hows that Myoplex and Flax diet working out for ya?

funny you ask......but i got my 1st 3 meals just like that....then my 4th meal is usually a big ass meal. not bad just a lot of servings. most of the time i am too full to have my myplex shake before bed.

i don't take more than 2 tbsn of flax a day so i have it in my 1st 2 meals.

as for how do i look? i guess better. i'm still taking the femara and clomid trying to recover from my last cycle. i haven't lifted in 16 days and i'm starting to have withdrawl symptoms. i'm gonna lift monday night again.

GoLean

Go Lean is garbage. My body cannot process Frutose especially High Fructose..When I eat Go Lean Bars or Their High Fibre Ceral I always have an episode or a reaction but the box never says it contains High Fructose but its in there somewhere.

It is better than most cereals out there, except for plain oatmeal. Most box cereals have too much sugar. At least, it has some protein in it.

I was going to buy some of this but the "evaporated cane juice " thing changed my mind. Its sugar for gods sake. Why try to make it sound healthy. That just made me really mad. So even though I'm tired of oats I'm sticking to them and Fiber One.

Dont overlook Uncle Sam Cereal.

i eat a cup of Kashi go lean crunch cereal for my morning snack..it gives me my carbs that i need , and the protein of course!! im 16, so i dont have toi worry to much about the sugar...but anyways its sweetened with honey and cinninom, it 100% better then all those sugary cereal's.....i love it, it satisfies my sweet cravings, although it is pretty expensive, thank god my parents are paying for it,, :verygood: ......i pay for my protein powder though...reemebr u got one life to live, enjoy it, having some kashi cereal isnt going to mess up ur goals, its good for u,a dn ur body needs soem sugar anyways....

hate to say it but it cereal would be awesome with the soy
evaporated cane juice........whatever!
and honey
lil stevia or splenda and some flax would turn it into the stuff i make at home

u have ur opinion and i ahev my own, so dont bother apologizing, nobody siad u were rite....oh nda since im still a teenager i aheva high metabolism,a dn burn my calories off easy, so im not too worried, its a much healthier alternative then a bag of potato chips.....ppl wonder why kids are becomming so obese...no excercise/ sedentary lifestyles, adn poor diet--> u should see the school caf's!! so ya im happy to say i dont eat that shit there, adn id much rather have a cup of kashi cereal then a bag of chips, or fries...

i agree with ya on many points you have made
and yes the garbage they serve in high school scarf halls is aweful
i used to pack my stepkids lunches
but most time they'd come home with the lunches still intact and munching a big ass bag of doritos and a 2 l of cherry coke

red river comes from manitoba ...go figure
but you can find it in most healthfood stores and loblaws/superfoods in canada
it is made by robin hood
made from cracked wheat, cracked rye and cracked and whole flax seeds
it is a hot cereal
i eat it on carb up days
or toast it and sprinkle on my salads

cool cool i will haev to look into that......i haev rye bread with flaxseed for lunch with egg whites and tuna

nutrient break down for red river cereal
is
for a 1/4 cup raw which equals a 1 cup cooked:

154 cals
5.5 g protien
2.5 g fat
1.6 poly
0.5 mono
0.3 saturated
0 cholesterol
27 g carbs
5.7 g fibre
4 mg sodium
167 mg potassium

the fiber and potassium level makes this a great thing on carb up days
and you have the benes from flax too

if you toast it and use it for sprinkles the carb count is actually lower (well actually the GI load is)

cool cool..........with the toast thing, were u talkign about me crushing my rye toast and and sprinkling it up on a salad??? or u talkign about ur cereal? lol....i toast my rye bread, its made iwth flaxseed, i got my mom liking it too, so ya since she buys the groceries, it good, cause now she wont compalin about buying me "sPecial food" <-- that's what she lieks to call it..ahaha

cal: 99
prot: 3.3
fat: 0.8

no added sugar
