I cross the San Ysidro or Otay Mesa border about every 10-15 days, and up until Xmas I never had a passport for my 4 year old or my 16 year old. I finally got passport cards for all of us so we can use the ready lane.
Our passport card came in about 2 weeks though, and I know for a fact that your receipt can be used as we used them on Xmas day, and all our info was already in the computer.

yeah - I expedited one this year before our Costa Rica trip. It was an extra $65. They said two weeks but it was more like 8 - 10 days. Good luck.

I just looked it up. A passport is required for travel by air. We drive to TJ and fly out of Mexico, so I guess that's how we've gotten around without passports so long.

Yeah man, hit up some youtube clips from there. I go there every year now for the BPM festival. If you're with a kid I guess it changes your trip little though. I would take my kid (If i had one) to Xcaret when down in Playa. I go there anyway, perfect spot to bring a kid along. Fun place..
I'll check it out for sure. We're staying both in Cancun and Playa. I may have my daughter stay back in Cancun with the family. I'm relatively familiar with Playa but have never ventured into their club scene. It this place right on the strip?
