one of my top 10 hip hop songs of all time (Quiet Storm by Mobb Deep is still #1).

I HATED tribe at first, didn't get into them til later in college. My style needed to mature to the smooth hip hop I think. loved beatnutz tho.

quiet storm remix was better than the original. Havoc murdered that first verse.

murda muzik had tons of great joints on it.

after that, they were wack.

their first one when they were young, juvenile hell was alright too. kind of liked the way they rhymed

oh, and if you never got Noyd's first solo album. COP THAT!!!

Granted their shit of the last few years (post-Murda Muzik, which I wasn't a huge fan of) has been just bad, but they epitomized NY hip hop for a while, not just with Infamous. One hit wonder, lololol. Not to mention they were like 16 when they did Infamous, lol.

big L is one of my favorite rappers ever. if you like big L, download children of the corn. it was a group he was in when he was like 16-17. It was mase, cam'ron and bloodshed (cam'ron's cousin). They all had SICK flows. I'm not sure why cam'ron sucks now so much, i think it's intentional but back then he ripped it. bloodshed is actually my favorite out of those..RIP to him too

Big L is very underappreciated (RIP), especially outside of the NY scene. And definitely by me up until a few years ago. That dude was jsut gifted. Ever hear that flow he kicked that went on for about 5 minutes, acapella? I have one with him and Jay Z, maybe at a radio station, way back in the day. All off the dome. Amazing

T.I. has some alright tracks here and there...but for that guy to be a "king" that doesn't have the word burger in front of it is pretty fuckin lame.

i just listen to the old school artists that are still around dropping some good shit.
nas, cormega, ghostface, lake is pretty good. I was feelin cassidy a little bit. same thing with game...but again, they're only alright. LOX is always "ok" or above average. beanie sigel. Not going to lie, i listen to dipset too..but only because of their production. fuckin rhymes make me want to vomit

Doggystyle was actually legit. Not comparable to East Coast rap, IMO, but still pretty good. After that he was basically the comedic relief on other people's albums.

dre dont write most of his lyrics.
as a producer he is crazy, even though he doesnt always make the tracks by himself. he gets a couple producers together and dre is usually on the drum beat. he like a composer more than anything
