GODDAMN SHOULDER PAIN......help please

the UNDERTAKER

New member
OK WHAT THE FUCK??? my right shoulder is tweaked?? a couple years ago i felt a pop where my front delt ties into my collar bone. i was doing decline quite heavy and got out of proper form a little.and pop. it hurt for a while then went away. i have had no problems with it since then till last week. i was doing chest(declines) and it started to bother me. like the proud retard i am i finished my workout ( no pain on the inclines). i didn't go real heavy either. for the first time ever i noticed a little bit of pain on the very outside top of my side delt( like actual cuff pain) that seems to have pretty much subsided. i also sleep with my arms up and usually on my right shoulder. needless to say i am making every effort to stop that practice. my right shoulder has always been a little crunchy anyway.i usually grab a 5lb plate and do the circles forwards and backwards. there will be a little crunchiness on a few times around then after a sec it stops and there is usually no pain. BUT back to what is bothering me now. the delt collar tie in.... ive done some different push ups with hands out ,in,up,down, ect and there is no pain during the weight load?? it doesn't hurt to the touch either? i don't do any behind the neck movements at all. i've been reading some of the shoulder posts in the search but i want to get some fresh opinions. i'm not stopping my cycle, today starts week 5.its just test and l-dex but i've got 6-7 weeks left. soon as i'm done i'm gonna get my right rotator cuff checked. but that doesn't seem to be the problem its the delt collar thing. tuesday is chest again and i'm going to pre-exhaust with some light pec-dec straight arm flyes, then only incline dumbels. will do lighter weight and higher reps. anyone experience this?? sorry for the long post but i wanted to include all the info.:)

Sounds familiar...

Welcome to the club big guy! It could be any number of things.....such as bursitis, slight case of arthritis (that's me), small tear (me), impingement, slight dislocation (me), just a case of good old inflammation, rotator cuff, etc. I had my shoulder scoped 2 months ago & it wasn't until it got to the point where I couldn't stand the pain anymore & had an MRI done that I found out was the real problems were. Try shoulder stretches before your workouts along with alternating ice & heat on it afterwards. That does help. Also use some Naprosyn or Ibuprophen to help kill some of the pain from the inflammation. Some guys recommend using Glucosamine/Chondroitin to help but that stuff didn't do jack for me. I also read a thread last week that tells of another natural anti-inflammatory that one of our guys swears by. I'll see if I can find the name of it for you.....

Hang tough man....it's a bitch.

Here you go...

Ok bro....the name of the stuff is called nexrutine. It's talked about by our guy Suspension on a post titled "Must read for all those with joint pains". Supposed to be some pretty good stuff. Read it over & see what you think. There's also some posts on A.R.T. therapy (massage therapy) plus some others (prolotherapy). Seriously think about seeing a Sports Med doc & see what they have to say. That's probably your best bet.

......and then there's deca.....

i'm going to try glucosamine as soon as i get to the store. its just a little annoying pain, pisses me off ,but i will see how this weeks work outs go and that will tell me alot cause it just started so we'll see.........oh and fuck- shit- dick- shit -fuck for you johnboy:p :p :D

Might be a structural problem, my belief is that it is better to look at the cause of a problem rather than taking drugs or supplements to cover up the pain. Try doing 3 sets of internal rotations (works the rotator cuff muscle under your scapula) followed by 3 sets of straight arm pullovers (this one works your serratus anterior). Also stretch your chest everyday for at least 5 minutes per side- 5 straight minutes for each side is best, just light easy stretching though in addition to what chest stretching you do now. Do this everyday for 1 week and see if this helps- since you are "on" you ought to see results within 1 week.

You can go to this site to see how to do the internal rotation (exercise 3), use a cable pulley while standing for best results.

you possibly tore your labrum which, is cartilage that surrounds the R C. ITS job is to function as a cushion for your R C.if thats the problem it WILL NOT get any worse but, will not get any better.you could feel pain on top of your deltoid but, the tear could be on the bottom.(vise/versa).if torn only repair will be to have surgery & thats @ 4 months recovery.weird thing is you may feel comfortable lifting inclines,or flat but, declines hurt.lay off the declines til you se a specialist.hope it helps out

one other thing. the pop in your shoulder could be the result from a significant amount of scar tissue. same deal ....doctor! good luck!

thanks bros for all your help!! i did chest today (tues) and went fairly easy. i did inclines(dumbells) at about 45` and it felt decent. didn't seem to aggravate it then some high rep long squeeze pec dec to get a good burn. after 2 sets of pec dec it hurt a little, so i laid off. tried 2 sets of real low inclines at apx 20`and my shoulders were allready pumped and burning so i couldn't really tell what i was feeling 100% so i laid off. then i proceeded to turn my triceps into hamburger:D . its not sore at the moment like last week so i'm hoping i can work around it.
