Alrighty....I think I'll pick up:

The Princeton Review.
Kaplan's
The Official Guide.

That shoud be good, eh?

Take one of the courses.. the Princeton review is good.. its expensive as hell but worth it.. before that course I was in the high 600's... I ended up with a 760

damn....almost perfect....i give the gmat and gre among other tests for a part time job and it's rare to see that! good job!

p.s.----when you go to take the exam, the test site will provide your scratch paper and pencils, so all you need to bring is yourself and your driver's license.

Dumb? Come on now man.

Sadly a GMAT wont get you into business school.. it can break you, but not make you.

I'm not sure what school you are looking at, but if you are trying to go top 5.. or even top 10.. you need to have a STRONG undergrad gpa from a top tier school to go along with your 700+ GMAT.

I've got a friend with a 750 who has been denied from every school he applied too... his undergrad gpa was 3.2 or so.. and his work experience right now is light (3 years).

Setting yourself apart in some way really heps.. starting your own business, or doing something innovative career wise between the time you graduate undergrad and apply for Business School REALLY helps.

I haven't gone to business school (yet) instead I went and got a technical master's degree (telecommunications) because for my career right now that is what I needed. I'm taking a break from school for now.

I have one school in mind....it is pretty good business school and have an "open" admissions......not hard at all to get in 2.5 undergrand and 450 GMAT.....I had 3.4 undergrad and I think I could gt a 450 if I was using Poyeboy's brain........BUT I have been contemplating Univ. Of Michigan's Business School whick is Top 10.......I would probably need a 680 GMAT....I have 5 years work experience....and I currently run my own business. I think I can get in, but the price is high, and their salary survey of their graduates is not much different from the other school I'm looking at.

Decisions, decisions.

Business schools are tricky... its helps to know what you want to do after, but that isn't always possible.

For my, I live in California... so to work here in Cali I'd need to go to Cal (Hass), Stanford, USC, UCLA.. or one of the top 5... northwestern.. harvard.. university of chicago.. MIT.. etc...

But say you live in North Carolina.. or Texas.. you could go to a school in that state and easily get a great job in that state afterwards... but it'd be tougher to get the same level of job in Cali.. why? BEcause you'd be competing while people from all the schools i mentioned above.
