Someone isn't getting there merit raise. I can tell you that much!

That's a lot of suck.

Crappy GM products. About damn time people are realizing this. Maybe this will force them to start building quality cars that: (1) have nice interiors, (2) have nice exteriors, (3) are reliable, and (4) don't weigh 20 million goddamn ton and suck gas like a Boeing 747.

Either that or start selling Corvettes for 15 grand apiece lol.

Bernie Ebbers could've made a better guess than that.

Yes, go ahead and get rid of all the North American Gm plants, ford etc. Dumbasses don't realize this will destroy everything, not just GM's employees' well being.

You tell me how a loss of 1000's of jobs that will leave them all loosing their houses and forced into $5.00 hr walmart jobs will benefit anyone but the top dogs?

You can't, so just shut your fuking mouth.

Who said anything about closing plants you AssSponge ?

I read that it may wake GM up to the fact that Americans won't buy
totally on Loyalty any longer. And maybe they will build better vehicles.

As always -- the person who'll pay the ultimate price will be the poor GM auto worker.

Auto Worker is such a horrible career choice. Talk about a volatile stressful industry to get into.

Yea,
Sucks making $30 an hour doing simple bolt tightening tasks.

Auto as well as commercial airlines are a tough job. Completely agree. To top it off, they're not paid well either.

Hence why job security is always paramount on their minds non-stop.

I'd hate to be at a job where i keep fearing "when will the big boys figure out trained monkeys can do my work???".

I wouldn't be surprised if this news is used as a tool to combat the union, and get tens of thousands layed off and jobs moved off-shore.

For all we know, this may be "good" news for GM execs.

Read MS's quote, he'd shut them down right now.

Ok, let's get to the absolute bottom of this. Your on a level playing field with China now. Their workers are basically slaves. The only profiteers are the owners. Slowly but surely we are loosing ground, and people are forced into these choices because they no longer have that good paying job.

The American Dream for the mass majority is gone.

Someone---please explain to me how his will benefit the mass majority, not just some CEO. I'm waiting to hear all about it. And keep in mind--you better think real hard about what your doing for living if your not already in a high position. And don't think that your protected for 1 minute if your educated and hold a good job. India already proved that your just as volnerable as a Hardee's biscuit master. Ever see the salary for a well knowledged China Engineer?? Around 3k perhaps?

Heh you know what--I like cheap shit just like everyone else. But if it means working for minimum wage and the cheap shit turns into the stuff that you can only afford and becomes a major purchasing desicion---where is the benefit??

For right now there will be huge$ made, but eventually the average citizen will be sucked dry of everything.

Eventually at this rate we will become a totally cashless society. You will hold a position in society for the benefit of your fellow man and $ will no longer have a meaning. You will live to provide a service and eat, that is all.

Don't take my word for it, Just look at the 3k China Engineer living in a 1 room dump with his family working 12 hours a day so he can just come home and stir fry bean pods. And the worst part is that this guy is actually happy because he knows no better. Is this what you want?? Because I guarantee this is what your going to get.

The ultra rich already have all the $ they could ever want, the only thing left to obtain is total and complete power.

I'm actually pretty good at predictions, everything I said about Bush prior to his first win has materialized. So yeah I might sound crazy, but you really need to think where this is heading.

I wasn't talking about MTSlyspanker. Nobody listens to him..

I like General Tso's Chicken. Hold the bean pods

GM is losing money because NO ONE IS BUYING THE CARS. If NO ONE IS BUYING THE CARS, then how can they pay their workers?

Where does the money come from, if they are making shitty cars that no one buys?

If GM goes out of business (and it might), it won't be because President Bush hates you, it won't be because the republicans bankrupted it....it will be because NO ONE IS BUYING THE CARS.

Has nothing to do with government sir.

Get ready cause China will flood our market with cheap cars. While it wont totally kill GM and other North american manufacturers it might be a huge blow. Most GMs cars suck balls anyway compared to japanese...

I owned GM car before (Grand Am), and while I got a lot of miles out of it, I had to make more repairs that should have been necessary. I've now owned a Honda Accord for three years, and I can honestly say that I don't want to own anything but a Honda or Acura from now on. If Honda can put out a good car while using American labor, and be competitvely priced, then why can't GM? The answer is: they could, but they've had no reason to change up until now because they were making money hand over fist in spite of their inferior product. Now, this reality check will let the bigwigs know that they have to raise the bar if they want to stay in business.

And amen to that too.

As a consumer -- if i can get a nice, dependable, sturdy, reliable, gas-efficient automobile for say $8,000 -- hell YEAH i'll grab it.

If North American auto-makers ruled the land -- a half-decent car (one that doesn't have freakin' roll-up windows, 120hp and no stereo as it's main configuration) would be like $28,000. And a sorry ass 36,000 mile warranty.

If people aren't buying their cars -- maybe they should ask themselves...Why?

To spell it out further for those who can't seem to comprehend, nobody is buying GM cars anymore because they suck ass. Poor quality, poor reliability, and poor design. And to top it off they are ugly as sin.

Now that Honda, Nissan, and Toyota are focusing more on the pickup truck segment, it'll even get worse for GM et al.

If the assfucks can't make a decent reliable car, who's fault is it? Why don't they go out and borrow toyota's and honda's engineers and execs for awhile?

The Japanese believe in something called Kaizen which means constant improvement. Believe it or not, Dr. W Edward Deming an American (renowned quality-control expert) had a huge influence in Japanese business and society. The highest honor a Japanese company can receive is the National Deming Prize. It goes to the company with highest level of increase in quality of products, service, management, and worker support throughout Japan. It is given out on National TV.

NuttButt: All above correct. I'm not arguing that, im complaining about one of your usual snide comments "just close them down".

I'm sure the top GM dogs would just love that, and I see no benefit for anyone except them.

And with an extension of Corporate America in the white house---Yes it does have to do with government--on other levels anyhow. Bush..."Oh im sorry Mr. GM billionaire..........here let me make it easier for you to skip town."

That's ok, we might drown--but were gonna take them with us.

80% sounds like a nice safe number.

lmao @ 80%! I could have forecasted better than that and I am a semi-retard.

Me too! and I'm a full blown tard.

I'm feeling kind of guilty for buying an 05 Toyota now... Nah! fuck that :doublefi: I'm not buying a GM piece of shit.

question:

what does GM's earning forecast have in common with killahbee's saying that he is a semi-retard?

answer:

they are both way off.

Ditto Ditto Ditto...screw the buy it because it is made in the USA crap...I would if they wait in the repair shop for me and deliver it to me everytime the piece of shit breaks.

Buy a Honda or Toyota...then just take over Japan.

look at GM brands: none are must haves

Saab- ugly and not to many dealers
Hummer-gas prices killing it
Saturn-ugly
Oldsmobile-closed
GMC-gas prices will hurt
Chevy-cars are nasty, only one people buy is corvette
Pontiac-cars are looking better, don't know about quality tho
Buick-more nasty cars and trucks
Cadillac- some look nice, gas will hurt sales, heard bad things on quality

Japanese luxury cars are working hard on becoming more gas friendly, but unfortunately Cadillac has always been a gas guzzling car and I don't think they are getting it. Nobody wants to pay the wack ass prices of gas these days, especially when it is only going to get worse. Makes you shake your head.

I like Caddies too.

Good point on the quality/style issue NOT being American labor causing the problems with inferior quality/design.

Why have the Japan based companies moved more and more assembly design and even now manufacturing into the U.S. and Canada if our people can't do it right ?

GM and VW move thier work to Mexico and South America and the quality is going down hill..

Maybe Chevrolet is waking up with the Cobalt..

21st Century America.

No Fortune 500 firm is 80% off without a design.

Thank You! That's ok, when most of these unpatriotic bitches get mad a few years from now because Mcdonalds makes them purchase their own burger flipping spatula out of their own goddamn paycheck and MattSkywalker is out in the parking lot in his ricer laughing hysterically because they fell for it......I'm gonna be all over their stupid fuking asses.

If these faggots have figured out a way to bust GM and the likes----this is going to have far reaching implications. Clean your desk out now.

The executives are not getting richer with such a plan to make their stock tumble to an almost all time low.

These asswipes will go to any extreme to get rid of the unions if they see bigger$ down the road. I know that for a fact, i've been personally involved in numerous organizing drives. I've seen plants halt production to near zero for months on end. Honestly though--I realize this isn't the main issue here--however it's a convenient side effect for them......just like how all Bush's shit works out. Te decline of the American Worker started back when that piece of shit Raegan busted the airlines union and showed the GOP how to do it. They have grown ever more sophisticated in most cases, or just outright bullish like Walmart who just said fuck it in Canada and closed it's doors. It's time for screwed over workers that have no family to strap bombs on their asses and take care of some of these problems.

GM cars suck. It's not a plan to enrich execs, because their really big compensation is tied to stock anyway. I am sure you learned that at one of your vote Hillary rallies. You can't play accounting games when you can't rely on future revenue.

Your entire premise is empty, your predictions of economic collapse are not only wrong but illogical, and your predicted outcome is just never going to happen.

You ever actually made a "business decision?"

Which isn't a bad idea at all. Getting rid of a union has also a lot to do with productivity....

Don't fret too much about doomdsday scenarios.

It won't happen. Look at house prices in this country. It's been rising like pancakes over the past 10 years. Why does it rise? Because people CAN afford it.

There's plenty of people out there making good amount of income to afford those $500,000 homes. LA for example. This city wouldn't survive if everyone was making $6/hr.

This country is still one of the richest countries in the world on per income basis. The rich and middle-class are still spending like there's no tomorrow. Money is still circulating pretty well through the circle.

thats why more americans are in higher debt than ever before.

and they have changed the lending ratio in the last ten years or so, people 'are allowed' to borrow more then ever before on a mortgage. = bigger house.

Wrong. People can't really afford these things, it's just now people are more willing to shell out the dough for it. It doesn't mean they have it. As Spongebob stated, Americans are higher in debt then ever before.
