My Met-RX Protein Plus bar lists 29g total carbs, 2g sugars. It calls 4g of these 29g "net impact carbs" because the rest (including glycerin) has little effect on blood sugar levels. Still seems to me like there are an awful lot of carbs that count as Calories and can be converted to fat. So even if you don't have any other carbs and you're sedentary, it seems like some of the carbs will get turned into fat. What kind of BS is this?

If you are keto dieting, you should count glycerin calories as carb calories. Glycerin will usually be converted to glucose when blood sugar is already low. It does this very slowly, so it has no significant effect on insulin and no immediate effect on blood glucose levels.
