glute shot- air bubbles

HumanTarget said:
i had that same concern at one time. i was in the hospital and had an IV in my arm. occassionally some decent sized bubbles would flow right up in me. i asked a nurse and she lol'ed and said that i'd have to have a good long line of air, a few inches, for it to be a concern.

YES....during one of my surgeries i had an IV and asked the same question....doctors said it would take much more than some bubbles, something like 15-20cc's of air to cause a problem

air is fine, especially with an IM shot.. i wouldnt wanna load up a 20 cc full of oxygen and then put it in my jugular..but an intramuscular shot is nothin

NIce post....i've always wondered myself if i had to get every little bubble out...glad to know some of those pain ones will be cool .....BUMP good info

If your doing glute and the airbubble is too small to get out, lol, no worries. I just hate it when your at the bottom of the vial and the needle sucks in some air inside the vial and the whole solution bubbles up inside the syringe. like 100's of lil bubbles, so i just shoot that in the glute. always been fine.

Just cap the needle/syringe and leave it on your dresser, take a shower, and when your done the bubbles should have resided. Voila! Stick and shoot.. You need alot of air in your blood stream to cause any kind of problems.
