glucose for your brain

A diet low in carbs is effective if you want to cut but not so good if you have to use your brain - though it is well known that Bbers scarcely use their brain, if they have one :fro:

The brain uses at least 20 per cent of the body's energy supply almost exclusively in the form of glucose.

Several studies have found that people with higher blood levels of glucose perform better at brainwork (cognitive tasks) than do people with lower levels.
There is increasing evidence that eating breakfast is associated with better memory and better mood later in the
morning particularly if the breakfast contains complex carbohydrates.

A mid-morning snack can also be helpful. So if you need to accomplish an important task in the morning remember to have a good breakfast!

Excellent point, i think Pardeus stated once that the brain uses 100g of carbs/day.

I used to cut w/ keto and CKD, but found i can reach the same results w/ just low carbs 50-100g/day w/ a cheat meal every 2 or 3 days.

I've found the exact same thing, only I have to keep the cheat days to one per week because I have the metabolism of a turtle. I'll cut out the carbs for a short time if I absolutely have to, but normally, I'll eat a limited amount of quality, low GI carbs.

I do agree you gotta find what works best for you... For me it's a cheat meal every third day. Not a cheat day, just 1 extra cheat meal.

True true. Plus taking care of yourself in the morning (associated with taking time for a good breakfast) naturally puts you in a better mood for the rest of the day.
