glass in your ass?

I have sustanon amps I would like to start using soon, but i don't like the idea of injecting tiny glass particles in my ass. seems nobody can say exactly what the effects of it are.

i've read some medical research online which states that filtered needles reduce the glass almost to zero. but i don't know where i can get ahold of those.

Do you plan on opening the amps with a hammer? LOL.
I suppose it's possible to get microscopic amounts of glass in your gear, but particals that small will probably flow through the filter as well.
If you file around the top of the amp, you should be able to snap the amp tops right off without any glass fragments.

When you open an amp, you can guarantee there will be glass particles, microscopic in size and possibly carrying bacteria, since they could be from the outside of the amp. There will be a small shower of microscopic particles created when the glass breaks. Most choose to ignore them; even many hospitals don't use filtered needles.

The needles have 5-micron filters, which are considered adequate.

It must not be too big a concern because hospitals use amps all the time and don't use any special filter.

I was browsing a nursing chat forum earlier while searching on this. A few nurses reported that once they mentioned to their supervisors that they were perplexed at not having filter-needles then such needles soon appeared.

The use of filter-needles is recommended when using amps. As I said above, most choose to ignore the issue.

Ive never used a filtered pin when using amps either. Ive only used amps in 2 diff cycles tho

If its that big a deal, couldnt you just put sterile gloves on and give the outside of the amp a bath in alcohol? It seems like if you do it right, you shouldnt get any glass in your gear.

I think it is impossible to get glass in your butt

But if you do, it won’t hurt you, if you got it in blood vessel, it COULD hurt but not necessarily

Great, one more thing to worry about.
I've used hundreds of amps for quad shots. What has happened to all the glass shards?

I think I'm going to transfer my remaining amps to vials and filter the gear through a Whatman. I can do without extra things to worry about.

you're not going to inject glass in your ass - no worries bro :chomp:

QUESTION: Our new OR director is concerned about how we draw up medications from glass ampules. She states that a needle filter should be used when drawing up medications from a glass vial. We have never done this at this facility. Some of the nurses who have worked in other facilities report that they used to draw up medications from glass vials using filters, but they were not sure where that recommendation came from. Should a needle filter be used when drawing up medications from a glass vial? Where does this recommendation come from? What is the rationale?

ANSWER: The American Society for Health System Pharmacists recommends filtering solutions drawn up from glass ampules to remove glass particles. (1) Opening a glass ampule produces a spray of tiny glass particles. Many of these fractured minuscule glass particles can enter the ampule and contaminate the contents. The size of the glass particles increases proportionally with the size of the vial. (2,3)

Animal studies have demonstrated that IV administration of glass particles is associated with pathological responses. Glass particles were found in the pulmonary capillaries, livers, kidneys, spleens, and intestinal walls of animals studied. The research demonstrated that glass particles caused inflammatory responses, thrombi, and foreign body granulomas. (2,3)

A study on glass particle contamination in glass ampules demonstrates that the mean glass particle count in ampules after they were opened was approximately 100.6 particles, ranging in size from 10 [micro]m per 10 mL to 1,000 [micro]m per 10 mL. Glass ampules with transparent metal etching produced significantly more glass particles. Aspiration of solutions from glass vials through an 18-g needle reduced the mean number of glass particles to 65.6 and decreased the maximum particle size to less than 400 [micro]m per 10 mL. Aspiration through a 19-g needle with 5-[micro]m and 0.22-[micro]m in-line filters decreased the mean total number of glass particles to 1.3 [+ or -] 0.3 and 1.2 [+ or -] 0.3 respectively. Particle size was decreased to less than 200 [micro]m. (3)

Data demonstrate that aspiration through a 19-g needle with a 5-[micro]m filter is an effective way of reducing glass particle contamination. It must be noted that after medication is aspirated into a syringe, the filter needle must be replaced with a standard needle before the medication is injected into a patient.

thanks guys. yeah i don't think it's a big issue, people have been injecting with amps for years without filters.

but i'd rather avoid it anyway just in case

People had used straight edged razors to shave with for hundreds of years. Doctors conducted surgery for years without any kind of antiseptic for hundreds of years. This does not mean we need to keep doing it. I would go the way of progress and consider filtering amped gear. There is no doubt that it would be safer.
