the starfish girl was called the c word and some member who shall remain nameless wanted to put a pic of a clubbed baby seal in his avatar.

i find that people without a valid arguement tend to personally attack.

I also find that people without a good command of the english language often resort to using profanity to get their point across.

and further
I find that people who constantly brag about how great their life is compared to someone else's pathetic one, are usually the people who are seething in their own misery.

this is not the first time we have thought alike.

oh, and my newly formed powers of observation have just made me notice that when giving up the funny, I have also lost the ablity to speak in slangs and abbreviations.

its odd, being that slangs can sometimes be funny, but there really isn't anything funny about an abbreviation.
I better work on this. I sound like a dick.

I do, as well, to an extent. I think the reason is that I can delay my thoughts enough to effectively articulate my positions Unlike in real life where my mouth engages before my mind realizes what is happening.

as I said in the thread- the thought of baby seals getting clubbed is sickening to me. (i didn't say that, but I said i'm an animal lover)
I can't even think about slaughter houses without feeling sad for those cows, and that is humane as far as I know. I would be furious if tigger put that pic in his avatar as he wanted to do. really pissed.

but I still enjoy a good piece of steak or some chicken wings.

i am the same way. I could never hurt an animal let alone think of hurting one! IMO they are like little babies.The whole avatar thing was cruel and not needed expecially seeings how that some one who wanted to do it knew it would hurt and offend many people!

Actually, I hardly ever find foreigners swearing. It's those who were exposed to the English language all their lives yet fail to properly convey their ideas verbally swearing the most. I'm not robbing you of credit, I'm merely stating an observation. None of the foreign-born people I know use swear words the way a dumb American would. I do give you credit on learning the language as much as you have though.

Swole - actually, I swear a lot in my language and in english. Its just that when I have a serious debate and I know the subject (I try to avoid the issue if I have no clue) there is no need for profanities. Its the intelect that has to come out, not the street.

its true. foreigners don't swear like we do. probably because they have, or want to, learn the propper words to use. Plus, most times the use of them doesn't come naturally. If you know to say "My brother needs a ride to work", it would be a learned figure of speach to say "My fucking brother", and foreigners are not taught THAT in school, whereas americans are often taught that kind of way of speaking naturally by their parents and environment.

my parents don't swear.
therefore, I don't usually either. Sometimes i do here, but honestly, its for effect, not a natural occurance.

we swear a lot. I swear we do. I grew up listening to all males around me swear every day of my life. Now I do too. Its just that we dont do that like 3 times in one sentence. But we trow fuck this, fucking that, shit etc in the mix

I had a roommate in college that would make a sailor blush. I used to count how many times he would say fuck in consecutive sentences and when he would finish those sentences, I would say 18 or 21, or 24 depending on how many times he said it.

It would drive him nuts and he would get mad. I finally just kicked his ass and he moved out.

I do not engage in any serious debate with YOU because YOU have never shown me any repect in the past. I DONT WASTE MY TIME. I've talked to more than one person about this off the board...who all dont agree with me but funny how they can treat me so differently.

I could have easily gotten studies e-mailed to me on this issue to post here. What's the point....It will never change anything.

As for real life...learn to log off your computer and go out into it and make positive changes. If that is even possible.

This is something I can't understand. You always harp on this everytime you get into an argument with others here. I mean, how do you know all of us are on here all day and we never log off? You always seem to be here when I am here....weird.

Are you keeping a big chart at home and tracking everyone's times when they log on and log off? Are you tracking us all from your work?

If it's from home then that's your own little ball of wax and you can keep on tracking us. There are probably some good computer people here who can give you some advice on a good program that might let you do it more efficiently. Then you could actually post pie charts and bar graphs with the cool colors on it and let us know how we are spending our time here and our movements through the boards.

If it's from your work then maybe you have too much time on your hands. So just approach your boss and ask for more work. I'm sure they wouldn't mind finding more for you to do. Also
if you are posting from work then you are wasting company dollars by not being productive and using the internet for noncompany business.

Also, you always make a statement in your posts that you live near the beach and have a great life and the you are just an awesome person. That's great and I am glad for you. If you think it makes all of us jealous then you are wrong.

I am an awesome person too. I have worked hard from early on in my life to now and can now enjoy the things in life that were meant to be enjoyed. Even in my "old middle aged condition" (as you so eloquently stated about me) I still have a chance to enjoy this. I'm no MTS but I would hazard a guess and say you aren't all that either. I am not perfect and have never claimed to be. I make mistakes all the time but not this time.

In closing, I would hope that one day you will take the advice of the others here and find a better way to converse with us without berating us and insulting us to a level you seem to be comfortable with. I don't expect a response to this from you, I just thought I would convey to you how I (mainly) and others here, view you. I know you will come back at me and say I couldn't care less what I thought of you and blah, blah, blah but in actuality, it would be killing you. That's fine and good. I was always taught not to lay all of your cards on the table for others to see and you obviously were taught the same thing.

I don't think you would have to pm too many people to find that this post is pretty much spot on.

when you are my friend and you know me and my story you can make jokes on my spilling all day and I will lagh with you.
its just like when you hang with youre friends and you all bust on one another its no big thig,but let some one from out side the group say some thing and they are geting there ass kicked.
I just dont like people that dont know shit saying something.

I had one of the best steaks tonight I have eaten in a long time.

A medium rare filet with pimento cheese on top and a side salad.

I have never had a better one....a cheaper one but never a better one.

Dang that thing was expensive!

I used to be able to go out with the family and the kids would order from the kids menu. Not anymore. They have reached the age where they order from the main menu now.

Maybe it was the price that made it so good. :D

you just reminded me i can have a beer. I've been taking some medication and haven't been able to drink but I can tonight. I think i'll have one.
(you said steak and that reminded me of beer).

i eat my meat medium rare too. Maybe tomorrow I'll go to outback. not the greatest steak around, but better than me making it.

I'm going to go watch a movie.
