Getting the boobs done!!!

In a few weeks I have a consultation to have my breasts done. I have thought about this for some time and finally I have to do it. I had my daughter 9 years ago and before her I have wonderful boobs and now there just deflated and gross to me!

I was wondering if any ladies can give me some feedback from you own experience, such as recovery and which method you chose when having them done. (Under, belly button, underarm, nipple)

Well, based on some of the more recent experiences, my stuff is like ancient technology... ugh. Circa 2000. How like, so pre-internet boom. So Clinton-era.

LOL! Anyway - sometimes the "method" will depend on the doc - they seem to have "their" favorite method. Mine were "unders" done thru the aereola. Ended up w/ 425 & 475 cc saline round smooth or something (Frankly have no idea anymore... but I like em.) Sounds like the recovery time is significantly reduced these days. But generally "unders" are still invasive in that they cut into the pec muscle to create the pocket for the implant. To allow them to settle and heal the doc will generally tell you to not raise your arms above shoulder level for a few weeks at least. This meant moving lots of the stuff I used on a daily basis down to counter level (e.g. dishes, stuff in the cupboard, etc.) Frozen peas will be your best friend for a few days at least. (Frozen peas make a great ice pack to help w/ the initial swelling...)

Its one of the best things I ever did for myself - never had kids, but never had great boobs to start with. I waited until I was 35. Technology is even better these days and silicon is available again. Healing is much faster but still listen to your doc.

Good luck & congrats!

I got mine done on 4/17 & I love love love them already. I got Inamed 365cc saline moderate profile over the muscle (=to 438 under the muscle) and I have crease incision. My incisions are already almost invisible, and my breasts have been perfect since day 3! Overs are less of a recovery, and they don't take as long to settle or drop & fluff as some call it. I had 0 tissue to begin with, and they look wonderful!

A lot of plastic surgeons won't do overs unless you have some tissue, but mine did he just warned me of the higher chance of rippling. BUt, he overfilled to help prevent that. I went on 4 consults and every PS told me that if I go below the muscle the rule of thumb is no more chest workouts.. so under was a no go for me.

I have researched for years, and I belong to a great forum dedicated ALL to breast implants. So, if you have any questions feel free to ask. A good place to chk out pics is implantinfo.com. You can search placement, profile, height, weight, and get before/fter pics of hundreds of women. I would take pics to your PS to show him what you want to look like. GOOD LUCK!!

thanks so much for the info. If I do get them done it will be after summer. This was next summer they will be goo to go.

I am only 4'11 and 98lbs, so I am not sure if I want to go bigger then a full (what I was before baby)

you can send the pic. but tell me your weight and height.

Good luck hun...I am also getting mine done and also waiting till the end of the summer to do it. I can't limit my activities during the summer so its best to wait till it cools off and the pools are off limits. ;)

I am a little worried about it. I just don't want to have to replace them in 10 years! those suckers better hold out.

just be very gentle with them. hahaha I think they are warrantied for 10 years but most last a hell of a lot longer than that.

Sorry, I am 5ft 92lbs-post op. I was closer to 90 pre-op. Also, the warrany for Inamed is 10 years, but ONLY covers rupture. Which is the least likely complication anyone has. There are demos of mac truck running an implant over, they don't break. They are VERY durable. If they do rupture it's usually a faulty fill valve. The more common problems are capsular contracture- too much scar tissue makes them hard and sometimes distorted. There are different levels of this. Try www.justbreastimplants.com they have an extensive list of complications and the rate of their occurance. Most are VERY infrequent. BTW- with over the muscle I was only restricted for like 4 days. I resumed ALL normal activities within a week. Even carrying my little one & working out at the gym.

I got mine done back in 94. I went under the nipple to reduce scarring and wish that I had not done it there. It ruined my nipple sensitivity. I can still feel but it isn't nearly as pleasurable anymore. Also, if I had it to do over, i would go under the muscle instead of over. Over the muscle feels fake.

So, try to go under the muscle and through the belly button, if you can. Tell the doc you want them to sit close together too.

I've been contemplating getting them, too. I've done alot of research, and still am just really nervous about it.

i love mine  seriously, best investment youll ever make. recovery is not that bad. i took about 3 wks off any chest training to make sure they healed right. i went to a full C & wish I had gone bigger. all the gals competing in figure/fitness are like Ds now. :stilleto:

good luck! its def worth it!!!

I'm a 34B and am pretty pleased. Especially since I nursed two kids. Mine are still firm and perky. Btw I have nothing against breast implants. Though in this day and age we should be happy with a pair of 'healthy' breasts since so many women are affected by breastcancer.

I thought about it last year but after talking to some women who had them, I decided against it. Most of them loved their breasts but they were unhappy with what they had before. My husband was against me getting them but told me to get them if they would make me feel better. I decided he was right, I do not need them. I am a full B but when I was pregnant and a little while afterwards, I was a small D. It was hard giving them up. LOL. Mine returned back to normal and still remained perky so I decided to get them when they have fallen or if they become soft.

Cheers,

Mickey

ALL devices fail with time not to mention, like *real* boobs they will shift downward because of gravity. 10 years is the limit for safety so you had better plan on replacing them, otherwise don't get them. Any good doc will tell you this.

The warrantee on mine are up so I gotta get news one too. Actually I considered having them taken out altogether. Honestly I am still not sure what I will do.

I LOVE MY BOOBS and don't regret getting them done for a second. It is just that I have always been infatuated by tiny little titties that stand up and say, "HELLO!"

NOOOOO Don't do it! i like your boobs too!

SHIT I'm almost 6' tall! With 32a cups....and when I diet down...NOTHING BUT SHRIVELED UP PRUNES....I'm getting them!!! When I get the $$$$

LOL @ Prunes!!!

Yeah I have to put my off. I have school coming up and right now I am out of work. But the longer I wait I might just say forget about it ;)

Not me...saving the $$$-weenies...and getting the "perfect pair". Not too big, not too small for my frame, natural feeling... I'm excited! But 6K...WOW! Guess I need to start stripping!!! Or find a hot sugar-mama with $$$ (i can't see hanging with a sugar daddy $$$....too much like you are owned...from what I've seen!)...hey, maybe that could be another thread!

Hi not sure if it's too late (I'm new to the site and scrolling through posts) but a friend of mind got her boobs done. She had it done through the nipple. Afterwards I saw them and I didn't eve notice the scar, it was awesome. I'm going to get mine done the same way. Good luck... can't wait to get mine done!

Amanda

I have mine, over the muscle, and really love them. I disagree with the post above stating that they feel fake. I have felt girls under the muscle, and they just weren't that great to me. I also do my exercises daily, though. When I went to see my doctor, he told me that I had a perfect result. I wouldn't give up chest training for boobs any day!!

Yeah...if I win my pro card... that is the FIRST thing on my list.... I want "natural looking/feeling" boobs... mine are tiny (I'm a 34a at 6' tall! During contest...i have a couple of gross little shrivelled up raisins for boobs.... I don't feel like a girl at all... especially with the low-diet side effects. Might LOOK good...but certainly don't "feel good". Anyway.... I'm still deciding on what's best.... I like the "natural hangars"...not the stiff melons..... Great post!

Thanks

S

I am scheduled for pre-op this coming Thursday and surgery is in 2 weeks. Have been wanting to get them done for a while. Am currently a 32B. Can't wait to see the results. I wonder though, how quick is the recovery time? I understand you are supposed to take it easy for a while, but I have a flight scheduled 2 days post surgery and will be on the go for the next couple of months. No chance really to stay home and not do anything.

I'm sure by now, SMT, you've had your implants. Tell use how it went. I am barely an A cup and my breasts sag. I was a full C cup after my pregnacy and love it. I want that back. I will get implants just a matter of saving the money. My husband is all for it as long as I'm doing it for myself and not for the thrill of it. Hope all is well.

Yes, I had mine done on March 25th. I did 400cc silicone (gummy bear) implants and I love them. They feel real and look real. I was a small B before and so now am a 34C or 32D according to Victorias Secret measurements. My incision was done under the fold of the breast and although my scars are still visible they will likely disappear almost completely in time. I opted out of all pain meds and took only IB Profen at night and about once per day for the first 3 or 4 days after surgery. Because my skin is so tight, it is taking a while for the implants to drop into place and so they are still a little higher than what they should be but are MUCH better than what they were right at first. Because the skin is stretching still, they itch like crazy sometimes but that is improving now as well. I am in the gym regularly and so skipping the workouts was really the worst part of it all. I began walking (very slowly) on the treadmill and riding the stationary bike on day 3 after surgery. Over did it a couple of times but learned REAL fast what not to do. Best of luck to you if you decide to get yours done. You won't regret doing it! :)

That is not necessarily true.

I think there is a woman who has some of the first sets of silicon implants in her still, so 40 years.

A good surgeon will have you in to have a scan or something like that to check for things like capsular contraction (although the new rough surfaces have this happen less often).

I think women do need to remember that they need to support the implants still, wear sports bras, and get fitted for decent bras

I love my implants as well, but I was also only really 're-filling' what I had lost because of

-becoming a chubette and then losing the weight

-bodybuilding

I think if I had just had small and perky breasts to begin with, I probably would have just left them alone, but I didn't, I have been a D-E/F cup (++ when I was a chubette) most of my life.

I did love it half the time during my first comp season when I had NO breasts, just pecs.

It was GREAT for wearing tiny, strappy tops, not having to wear a bra, or I wore a bikini top for a bra, and I could also get all sorts of great designer bras, like DandG, Robert Cavelli really cheap!

They looked ok, but they were really empty, and it did have an impact on my quality of life.

There was NO WAY I wanted to get naked with anyone with my breasts that empty. It nearly drove my boyfriend at the time bonkers, so I had to get 'sex bras'.

If you had seen my bewbies pre-implant you would have been MORTIFIED! LOL I nursed four babies. I went from an A/barely B to DD's 4 times in 5 years so by the time I was done with the babies and back down to SMALLER than pre-pregnancy there weren't much more left than stretchmarks and skin - ZERO breast tissue and NO bodyfat. :worried: The doc did a GREAT job but I had competed AFTER (they are under the muscle as my skin quality was so poor that was the only real alternative) I had them done both implants have slipped out of their pockets. Although they are still very nice they *hang* a bit too naturally for me, if ya know what I mean. :lmao:

I really am looking forward to new boobies. I've been told of this new stuff "memory gel"... FEELS REAL NICE! I have the names of two docs and will start shopping soon.

I feel like an old woman. I used to be so happy with my girls, 34 full Cs, but now I am precontest at 12%bf and they are saggy wrinkled barely-As! I hate having them touched and now i wear a bra when i have sex i am so self concious. I guess I traded boobs for my four pack....but it sucks when you are 20 and have the rack of a 70 yo!

Believe me, it didn't feel any better to me at the age of 29.

I got mine done 4/5. I got 400cc silicone gel's mod profile +, under the muscle and threw the nipple. I was a 36A and couldn't wait to get these babies! lol I am now a 36D (small D). They feel really natural! Recovery wasn't bad at all. I think the only thing I had trouble with was not being able to lift my arms to reach for things.. I kept forgetting. And doctor's orders where to sleep sitting up for the first few nights ~~> NO FUN! LOL But after all of that it was well worth everything and I am very happy. Now I am focused on getting my body in shape to match these great boobs ;) lol !

I would love to get some new boobies. Before pregnancy I was barely an A and saggy. During pregnancy and while breastfeeding I was almost a D and perky. When my milk game in I begged my OB/GYN to give me a name of a doctor to get my boobs done. After having just one child, breastfeeding for only two weeks, and losing almost all the 80lbs I put on, my breasts are nonexistant. I have to wear those bras that come in barely sizes, if you've ever heard of them.

My husband supports me, but says I do not need them. I do not want to go big just get a lift and some volumn. My husband is saving to buy them and I will possibly get them in December. Do you have any advice for me when I start stopping? Just one more question, over the muscle or under? I do work out a lot but do not compete. I have read so many threads about this and now I am confused.
