Getting off Ephedra - what to expect?

HEya,

I've been using ephadra to help train. I am going to soon be in a situation where I can't have it anymore.

I get a better running workout when I use it. Will having trained with it make a difference when I am no longer on it?

What is withdrawal like? I don't normally take a huge amount. Meaning, I only take it before I have a workout, and usually I just take 20 mg with a stack of other stuff before my cardio or lifting sessions. Although I *have* started taking larger dosses before cardio (80 mg last time), I don't take it regularly (as in x mg a day, every day).

I think you might find the answer if you consider whether the effect you get from eph. is simply stimulant or energy sparing - then look at other substances with similar effects!

I usually feel weak for about 4 or 5 workouts but worse than that, the motivation goes down the pan. Your head does feel the withdrawal and although its a mild withdrawal compared to most drugs, it still sucks and you will feel very fragile and easily irritated. Youve got to ride out that first week and before you know it you are back into natural training. Your metabolism will slow dramatically also so you have to be very strict on your diet for a couple weeks before the bodys furnace kicks in again and you are back to normal.

Depends on how long you've been taking it. I had awful headaches, lethargy, nausea, general apathy, and lack of hunger. This rebounded into extreme hunger a couple weeks later..... Which is exactly why I cycle ALL my thermogenics. I will NEVER let myself experience that kind of withdrawal again! UGH! :(

i quit all ephedra and caffiene 5 mos ago and have never felt better. i would estimate it took about 1 1/2 to 2 wks tops to get over not taking it. i feel better all around and am stronger now also

Whelp, this is about day three of no caffiene or ephedra. And boy am i dragging it. I wasn't too regular on the ephedra - only about 75-150mg a day and sometimes none a day. But I did hit the caffiene pretty hard.

Just temporary. I will avoid the caffiene hook but will definitly get back on the e when I can.

ive been on ephedra for months at a time and withdrawl sucks , i get extremely sleepy , lethargic , extremely hungry and the anxiety to eat food for no reason , and no desire to go to the gym , u feel better tho once youve been off it and stick to sumthing really simple for energy such as green tea but the results you get from ephedra are well worth the crappy withdrawl process IMO
