genetics question..

hey guys.. i have a question on genetics.. u see i'm 6'1" and weigh 200lbs and i'm asian.. i seem to be the only one in the family with such a big frame and height.. i'm 20.. but my bro who's 17.. maybe around 5'7" or 8" is skinny as hell and only weighs 110lbs!! no matter what he eats he has never gained any visible fat.. his bf i think would be maybe around 5-8%.. he quite active in sports.. badminton, human formation(bunch of ppl making human towers 2 stories high)

so recently he tells me that he wants to bulk up.. but doesn't know what to do.. i think he eats the same amount of food i do.. maybe more(hehe.. i'm watching my weight).. ;)

so anybody who has any experience with similiar situation can share their opinions will be deeply appreciated..

This should be on the diet forum but I'll give you an answer. I could write volumes on the topic but here is the short answer; He needs to keep consuming more Calories until he starts to gain weight. These should be from high quality sources such as lean meats, dairy, healthy fats and whole grains/fruits. Flax oil is a great way to add extra calories and make sure he spends plenty of time in the gym. This is a valuable site with a lot of well informed and experienced people so take advantage.

Being skinny (or at least very lean) is a good thing for body building and sport in general. It indicates a faster metabolism which in turn, means that the body is able to process and 'turnover' more nutrients more quickly. At the moment he's not eating enough to increase his weight, but that is easy to fix. Your bro's smaller frame benefits him in that as he does grow muscle, the shorter arms will fill out more quickly, and the smaller joints and slighter girths will make the muscular gains more exagerated.

At 16 I had my growth spurt and was nearly 6'0" with some abs @ about 165!
At 26 I was 230 and ripped - drugs not required!

cool.. i guess he just needs to start lifting.. thx a bunch..
Dude, he needs to eat more. That's the limiting factor here. He can lift all he wants - if he doesn't eat enough he won't grow

All skinny people say they eat alot. Count calories, shoot for like 5000 a day ahhah he will gain weight its a fact. If he doent eat 6000 at one point in time something will happen.
man i just need to coment on human formation(bunch of ppl making human towers 2 stories high). I was not even aware that exsited. I would love to see that.

FYI plrpower.. i've been doing it for 8 years.. i can carry weight on my shoulders that sum up to 440lbs.. 2 stories high is normal.. we would go up to 3 stories high.. that's like 4 level of ppl on top..

alot of ppl were impressed when they say us perform.. as it was an extraordinary feat that u don't see everyday.. and not many groups or organization can do it.. maybe u've heard of my NGO called Soka Gakkai International(SGI)? we're a lay buddhist organization dedicated to promoting peace through culture and education..

if u're interested pls ask me more questions if u like..
