Gear in the oven...NEED QUICK HELP!

Imm sure this has been explained over and over, but the exact reason for "baking" gear is what? Doesn't hurt as mucch when you stick it? Is it only used for certain types of gear?

SOme gear breaks down. I had some cypobold 200 that broke down and had a gel\crystalized at the bottom. Bake it, shake it, draw it, stick it

I have assumed, but don’t know, that the bottom of the vial would heat up more than the rest of the vial, so I have always found a small rack and heated it on that.

I'm assuming the same...the glass in contact with the metal will get hot as hell; I don't know if that can break the glass or damage the solution

Makes no difference. Lot easier to put it in a small pan then put the pan in the oven instead of trying to get the vial to sit straight on oven rack.

I've done it many times now and never had problem with vial breaking. I don't believe in baking gear to make it less painful though, but I have baked gear many times now after it has crashed.

That maybe why it only takes me 10mins in oven at 250. Cookie sheet, think about it, crystalization collects at the bottom, cookie sheet, good to go
