Let's hear some of the layouts you guys that have converted your garages into a gym...ie. what you have in it, how much space, furnishings, etc?

i dont have alot of equipment or space but i got a squat rack, 700-800lbs weights, f.i.d bench, separate bench press, sled, farmers handles, keg, and 2 sets of stones...

the yoke and 2 tires are in the yard

bodysolid power rack & flat bench (get an adjustable one IMO), shrug bar, lots & lots of plates, thick bar, db rods and a couple of 2" handle 'monster' DB's, bodysolid dip stand

Carpet down on one half of the garage, the half the car doesn't go in

Pretty much everything you'd ever need to get strong IMO.

Well

2 * benches, 4 * barbells, 11*dumbells, 2*chin bars, 1*squat rack (dont use it...use dumbells at the moment), Pull downs, leg extensions, preacher curler, flys, excercise bike, a lil carpet, CD/radio player and lots of useless accessories.

I did have a punch bag and rowing machine but I destroyed them with just everyday use lol.

A smith machine is to much for a home gym... get a power rack.

kingc_79, or others who have just a bench that does flat, incline, decline, what bench do you have and how much was it?

I have a weight bench w/ lat pull down, 6 leg curl, and it does flat, incline, decline. I have 1 barbell, ez curl bar, and 2 dumbells, and various weight plates... I plan on getting a power rack, so I can start doing squats, and workout without a spotter, which I never have. I want to sell that bench I have now and buy a like you guys have, just a bench that does flat, incline, decline, so I can push it into the power rack and be able to bench press to failure. I also need a weight plate holder and I plan on getting a heavy bag. Does anyone have any good ideas for what bench to get? Thanks.

F the smith....lol......and you don't have any Richard Simmons Gear??? lol....kidding...my pro is #1 i'm in the east (FREEZING) and #2 my garage sometimes floods when it rains for days.......if my shit got ruined, I'd kill someone........damn!

Nautilus Smith machine - with needle bearing action (has clips which essentially allow you to use an olympic bar for squats, bench etc.) Has a pec dec, lat pull-down, lower cable.

Dumb-bells up to 60 pounds mostly in 5 lb increments. (too light, usually use olympic bar when going heavy, especially rows.)

Dip-rack, chin-up bar mounted in ceiling. 80lb heavy bag, speed bag. Balance ball & mats, various cable handles & bars, Tectrix stair-stepper, a nice treadmill. All this and a stereo system and Tv/DVD combo and I'm set.

I didnt buy all this shit, my parents did and they use it almost everyday.

Any help with what bench, anyone?

Mine came with an old smith machine I used to have.

You can do a quick search on Google for weight benches and do some price somparisons. I have seen them from $50-$250. Just depends.

One thing I would suggest, is to go to a local gym that has nice stuff, and measure the height of their benches. Look on-line or wherever for one close to that height.

Would anyone be able to help me out with finding a Flat, Incline and Decline Bench. I'm looking to pay under $150. Thanks.
