I was browing max-ot's website for entertainment purposes and came across this article .

I figured you guys would appreciate it :p

lol... "biomechanically optimized form"

That guy's smart.

I submitted a question to him: "How do you get swole?". I wonder if he will tell me the secret to that?

to be fair, what he says makes sense with single joint moves like curls etc. Allowing the elbows to move instead of being locked in place is safer for the bicep tendon and allows greater loads.
Whereas to be strict something like a preacher curl comes to mind, and the strain on the bicep tendon is considerable.

With compunds, strict form is a must in things like squats.
Wheras push presses obviously have loose form in a certain way :)
But still strict in the sense you don't want to lean back etc.

Not really a strict black and white issue. Use common sense I guess.

Right to the point, MR, that's what I like about you.

BTW, If he tells you, will you let us know??

I agree with CCJ, and wanted to add that strength and conditioning legend, Mel Siff, routinely had OLers use chaos recovery to avoid injury when out of perfect form. I'm sure that's why Westside does it now. You would see OLers ATF with the bar overhead in a snatch position, and they'd be moving the bar forward, to the side, shifting hips, etc...just to create imbalances that they would then need to recruit to stabalize. Chaos recovery training is like the safe way of training outside the plane. Goodmornings and JM presses are great examples of that.

Just wanted to throw that out there. You're less likely to be injured when imperfect if you've prepared for it. :)

My form is pretty "loose" alot of the time. I always beat the shit out of the muscles Im working though. I used to move furniture and my mentality is to use the body more as one unit, rather then trying to isolate it. As Ive said before and its JMO, but I wouldnt adhere to strict form in a fight, Id use my entire body to generate the most power possible.
