Fun in the USA (part 1)?

Hi All
I'm moving to the USA (Nashville, TN) soon, so I found a board there I can ask some questions about leisure in the US.
I run my own business, and 99% of my customers and partner are from US, so I know that culture from the business prospective pretty well.
However, I'm somewhat ignorant about American 'social' life.
The thing that troubles me the most is relationships with females - many of my friends who moved to or visited US told me that bedding a woman can be a real problem for a guy from the Europe (especially from Eastern Europe) and serious relationship is almost impossible. I thought is was total bullshit, but after hearing it from many different people I started to worry.
Can someone tell me if there is a problem and what is its cause?
It cannot be in basics – European guys also brush teeth, take shower, dress nicely and so on. Is it a problem to pick up a girl in some night club or in a college library (I’m going to get an MBA) for example?
I’ve never experienced a problem with getting a girl (although getting some particular girl may be difficult, but getting just ANY girl is always easy) – can I expect that it will be the same in the USA?
OK, let’s say it shortly:
1. Is it more difficult for a guy from a Europe to get a female (both one-night stand and real dating variants) in the USA and if yes, why so?
2. What are the most important things that turn American females off and on? For example, here at home my only problem (although not significant) is that I’m a little short (5 ft 9 in.) and slim and girls just do not think that I have a good body until I undress, and the most turning on features are my self confidence, sense of humor and the fact that many people call me boss :). Is that the same in the USA?

I’ll be grateful for any suggestions and advice on that issue.

Self-confidence is important but some cultural differences may cause problems and will take some getting used to. This includes choice of clothing, grooming, etc.

Silk shirts, greasy overdone gel, and a cologne overdose (for example) may be the look of a handsome player somewhere in europe but here it won't do in the US.

Make some friends in college and try to get the jist of american culture in bars and clubs and try to fit in. Don't bring europe here... its great to be original, but our culture doesn't readily accept foregin culture when its overdone or too obvious.
