Full Bloodwork Prices

one thousand dollars. with my pinky by my lip and a stupid look on my face.

BOOGS

I'll just tell em' that I saw it on mtv, and they said I was gonna die because I touched one tab of winstrol, and that I need the blood work done to save my life.

yeah, I've seen it...and I appreciate your humor, I was just joking around with you, sorry if you were offended by my candid remarks

candid? poor selection of word choice mijo

just wondering if anyone had an idea price wise, because I don't have insurance at the moment, as I just changed jobs.

I haven't posted this story yet so I will now:

I went to the doctors office to get my blood tests done before starting the juice-- just so afterwards I'd have something to compare the numbers to and they said they'd call me when I could get the results and they never called so I called them and they said they had no record of me getting a blood test and have no idea where my sample is.
"but we obviously wont charge you"

lovely huh?

easy goldfinger, I was just responding to someones dumbass comment

Dumbass? So I guess the correct information about costs was stupid alright. Although I haven't seen anyone else post a price for you. No prob, I hope everyone reads this post to see what an unappreciative piece of human garbage you are, and tells you to get fucked when you need some help or have a question. Burn bridges my friend.

wow, didnt know you were so uptight. apparently you're the only one allowed to joke around in "your world". yes, it was a dumbass comment. I didnt say YOU were a dumbass, just the comment. I assumed it was meant to be, as was mine originally. yes, three people did pm me with prices if you're really concerned. And for the record, you can go back and look at my post to see that I've been everything BUT unappreciative to the people on this site. I apologized to you TWICE and there will not be a third. If you're really that upset about it, you need to desperately get a life and a sense of humor. my pity goes out to you.

Sense of humor, you called my mom a whore on an open post, behind a computer. I didn't insult you in anyway what so ever. You can take your pity and apology and save them, I think your gonna need them later.

The guy asked a good question and yall messed with him a bit so he responded. All of yall need to chill. Just for a bit :) Get that bp down.

Id say about 100-250$

My insurance paid around $250 for a whole workup. THe testosterone tests were the most expensive.

I had full bloodwork done a few months ago, and I mean EVERYTHING you could think of. Thank god for insurance because the bill sent to Aetna was around $950 for the visit plus QuestDiagnostics lab testing. I think I paid about $30 in co-pay.

Bro, when you got all that bloodwork done, was it an issue ? Was the office saying why do you want all of these tests done or do you have a dr that is down with what you are needing it for ? The concern I have is going in and asking for my test levels. I obviously can say my sex drive is down etc... but would like to have my "tests" done but do not want to draw any heat. Thanks for any advice.

A fair question deservers a fair question.

£150 with test levels in the UK thats about $262.

Worth every pound when it comes to your health.

Thanks guys, PolfaJelfa, Black Sheep, and Nighthawkk. You guys are the best. People like you guys that make this board an awesome place to be. MORE KARMA FOR YOU. and to cboogsrun, I threw my pity and apology away a long time ago...and for the record I don't need anything from you. the situations over with, stop crying

your an idiot. I was referring to a movie. I didn't call his mom a whore or anything unappropriate. I don't see how I was messing with him.

i thought insurance would cover...im going in 2 weeks for mine

Slightly off topic but there is a man down my gym who had a blood screen done via his private health care and his liver reading was very high. They knew he was a none drinker and a weight trainer so they looked in his test levels and voided his policy as his high liver count was due to the gear, and refused to treat him via his policy.

So i would always opt for a blood test away from my private health care, in the first instance until traces of gear was full out of my system.

Just a thought.

You have to attribute the testing to something, so I claimed that I dabbled with prohormones and OTC fatburners and felt very "fatigued" after cessation. I think the medical assistant knew that I had used steroids once she saw the list of what I wanted tested, but she was very nice and worked with me on it and created a valid medical reason for the insurance to pay for the testing. Everything actually came out fine after the 8-month cycle I finished, except for very high cortisol levels. Test was at around 412 ng/dl, but that's not too shabby considering I was only in day 50 or so of PCT.

good point and interesting scenario ur2insecure. I was thinking of going the route that nighthawkk did, only tell them that I plan on taking some over the counter stuff from GNC, so I want to get all of my levels checked before and after I use the "product". My insurance should kick in next week so I can have the test done before the first of the month. Thanks as always bros.

Once again good luck.

On a final note I thought it was very easy and confidential when I did my lab work with Quest. I went in early to a local office and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Had my results in 4 days in an easy to read format with explainations for everything. Direct labs also has a local office here. I am going to hit them up next time and I'll post a review.

You were able to go directly to Quest without a referral from your doctor and have bloodwork done on the spot?

A friend of a friend told me he used portamedic or portablemedic located in most cities. They do a lot of bloodwork for insurance companies and supposedly you can just look them up and call and they will send a nurse to your house(without drs referral) or wherever you want them to show up. They will take blood, urine etc,,, and send you the results. Not sure of the cost but I checked and they are in my city. I will be checking that out too. I would rather someone come to me than to have to wait in an office for hours. Check your local cities and see if you can google or superpages.com it and find a porta medic or portablemedic in your area and post please. :)

Hey bros, on the average...what can I expect to pay for bloodwork (full workup)

Define "full workup". I'd consider that to be:

Total Testosterone
Bioavailable Testosterone (sometimes called “Free and Loosely Bound”)
SHBG
DHT
Estradiol (specify by the “Extraction Method” or “Ultra-Sensitive”)
Total Estrogens
LH
FSH (3rd gen "sensitive" assay)
Prolactin
Cortisol
Thyroid Panel (TSH, FT3, FT4)
CBC
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
Lipid Panel
Homocysteine
PSA (if over 40)
IGF-1 (if HGH therapy is desired)
Fasting Insulin

Without test you can get it done for $90-$100.

www.questdiagnostics.com (I use them)

www.directlabs.com = $89

You pay online and then hit a local clinic and then check your results online in a few days.

Testosterone tests cost a bit more...$119 just for the test test on directlabs.com

Good luck bro and it is smart of you to be asking for this. Too many do not get blood tests done.
Yeah I've used Direct Labs many times. If you have shitty doctors or no insurance, then thats the way to go. You can order whatever tests you want and nobody asks questions.

Hell yeah. I went to the site and filled out the info. You get a confirmation number when you do that. Take that to the local clinic, the hot chick behind the counter checks the computer to see what you got ordered and to confirm everything, she then takes you out back and draw blood and gives you a cup to pee in (she didn't hold it for me though!)

Also, I paid at the clinic (you do not pay online).

No doc, no insurance, no BS etc.

I thoygh it was damn near perfect - cost was cheap too. She had a coup there and I got $20 off. Good service.

i fyou have health ins make an appt with your doc for a checkup and ask for bloodwork. you might have to fess up your steroid use but worth it to moniter your vitals.

Not if the doc writes that in your records. The insurance that you may have will drop you like a rock. I know somebody that happened to. I would rather go and have it done independant and on the down low. I will have mine done and post so you bros can tell me what the results are and where I need to be. I am smart enough to check but I wouldnt let anyone know shit. 3 people can keep a secret if two are dead. Doctor patient privledge my ass. Not in 2006 with all that happens with govt and the loss of civil liberties that we are losing daily. Just my .2 Now if I play golf with my doc or he/she is a relative I may consider it.

Your absolutly correct about keeping it on the down low with this. You have no patient/doctor privacy when you use an insurance company to foot your medical bills, they DO have the right to all your medical information and they will drop you in a friggin heartbeat if they think you are messing around with any "illegal" substances. Oh, and good luck getting any other insurance company to carry you if you've been dropped.

Small, the test results will also have the normal ranges listed on them, so if you are out of range you will see the norm. On DirectLabs web site they have some pretty comprhensive explanations regarding out of range numbers under the test results section.

Play it safe, stick to the on-line services for your during and after testing.
