fuel injector cleaners... good or just a gimmick?

good but not a magic pill, I have used them since 1989.

i've tried just about every brand on the market, having had fuel injected cars (off and on) since 1975....a POS volvo that still makes me shudder to myself when i see one on the road.

some are better than others.....the cheaper ones smell like mineral spirits and food coloring to me.

the "Red Line" brand of fuel injection cleaners seem to work better than others for me.... available online or at pep boys or autozone.

Good, but not a miracle.

If injectors need to be really cleaned - they have machines with chemicle baths that do this... but they have to be removed from the vehicle so it comes with a significant cost.

go buy a 5 gallon tank of toulene at sherwin-williams
mix at 4-1 ration with mineral spirts
theres your octane boost

If theyre goin bad or are really dirty then the fuel injector cleaners aren't worth a fuck.

$75 dollars or so a barrell and you need 2 gallons per tank
1 gallon per 10 and I have a 20 gallon tank
do the math,I rarely drive my super car and put the sherwin-williams on an expense account
