FRONT SQUATS help!!!

guys ive been wanting to hit front squats but everytime i give it a shot the bar fucks up and slips or someithng and i dont wanna make a fool of myself so i go back to regular squats but im sick of glutes and wannna hammer quads...

whats the technique how much weight less should i use for fronts

It's just a variation where you hold the bar in crossed arms in front of you, rather than in a clean position. You can buffer it with a towel if need be too.

you probably dont have your elbows high enough....or you are leaning too far forward.

can you explain how you hold the bar?
 
If it chokes me...I am doing them right. For some reason I just got in my groove with 315 last week. I'll get 405 for reps soon.

does it sit on your front delts and pretty much the bar hits your adams apple or what???

also where do you place your hands during hte front squat?
 
Right on Bfold... I have the bar snug against my neck... it is almost hard to breathe... ALMOST... my arms are crossed and hands are grasping the bar overhand... but not a full on grip... my elbows have to be high and my back must be straight, or the bar will topple. :)

5'9, 260, 15 y/o

my LBM is only 195, so i have a bit of fat on me, so dont go thinking i'm anything big, haha
 
The bar is loaded right on my delts and then I cross my hands on top of the bar, it should put some pressure on your neck but you need to have your elbows higher than your delts. Another must is a really straight up and down back, much straighter than normal squats....
