Friend of mine/co-worker dropped to the floor today at work

wow, how awful.

i'm sorry that happened.

A good friend of mine had a stroke at work. It was troubling at the time but we all got over it after a few years. I know, it does sound cold hearted now.

wow that is intense, i hope you are able to deal with it ok

Wow, yeah stuff like that can rattle ya pretty good. I'm just glad you guys were around to get help for him. If it weren't for ya'll, and he was somewhere alone, the outcome could have been quite grim. Always around if ya need a chat.

Let us know when you know something about his condition.
yeah i hope to get an update today when i get to work.

for those who asked about age, health, etc - he's mid-forties, small, physically active and healthy, somewhat frail (he's pretty thin) and he eats healthy and drinks TONS of water. those of us at work werent necessarily aware of any existing health issues but who knows.

please let us know what happened. aneurisms arent related to health really. they just come to people. a friends friends father sneezed at work and died 10 minutes later. the sneeze caused the rupture.

We thought he had a stroke but it turns out it was an aneurysm. They med-vac'd him to a better hospital apparently and he's in ICU but still not conscious (this happened 10:30 this morning)

This is very traumatic. it took 10 mins for Emergency personel to arrive all the while he was having tremors and then he was vomitting and blood came out of his nose.

I'm really upset by this. I worked very closely with him for my first 1.5 yrs on the job - sat next to him and we became close.

We had a counselor here onsite already so we could all process through this traumatic event. I cant even concentrate on what Im doing here and I feel a heavy weight in my chest and head. Like i need a nap in order to cope.

Anyone else ever experience this kind of thing on the job?
Wow, that is TERRIBLE. God bless him. I hope he recovers. I'm sorry you had to see that. That is terrible.

In law school, the guy sitting beside me fell out of his chair and had a seizure. He had epilepsy, but I didn't know it before the seizure. I was pretty upset, but he came to in a few minutes and then was fine but went home.

I don't know what I would do if it had been as bad as you described. I'm surprised they didn't give you guys the rest of the day off.
