fraternity secret handshake

were any of you in frats and have secret handshakes? im not sure what the point of it is, im guessing so you can go into any chapter and they let you hang out with them?
sounds like you would be a loser either way

Yes I was in a fraternity and we had a secret handshake ad I'll give you $1,000 to walk in their house and call them losers.

Yes it's true we have secret handshakes and alot more! Calveless wonder, Juiced dreadlocks, TXbondsman, and alot more of were frat guys in college. My frat we were the jocks, juicers, partiers, and got all the sorority chicks.

ok but whats the point of the secret handshake? do you use it everytime you shake someones hand and if they do the secret thing then you just know you were in the same frat?

No we have two different hand shakes one is a very simple one we do everyday with the bro's we know. The other is more complicated and say were at spring break and you notice some guy with your frat symbols on his shirt so you ask him a question and then he must respond with the right answer and then the handshake. Then you know their not lying and just wearing a shirt.

Bingo. Even when you walk into a house claiming you're a brother any brother can challenge you. If you don't know the procedure/answers/protocols you get your ass kicked.

We had one handshake that every person on campus probably knew, but it was a way for us to greet each other that reinforced the bond. Pretty easy to spot, there are only so many ways you can shake a hand.

Yes I think most do that basic shake but the other one is tough! I caught this guy with our frat symbols on his shirt at Club Lavela for SB and caught him lying and I made him take off the shirt and leave before he got killed from my boys. I was with some friends out while in the Army and this guy had a ranger shirt on and was lying to all the girls right when we had got back from Somalia so we didn't find it to funny and we made him take off the shirt and give it to us and in front of everyone and leave and it was winter time.
 
i've chilled with a lot of different chapters of my frat, and nobody has ever tried to solicit the handshake. honestly i wouldn't even want to associate with anyone toolish enough to do so

Any 50 year old guys I see who still kick it with their pledge brothers would be pissed if I wouldnt ''check'' them like that. Fuck, it's a fucking pride thing when you're a PIKE. The town I went to college there are buildings named after older members of my fraternity.

LOL!!! fuck you have a good memory... i did, but i knew the handshake because a few of our brothers used to be SigEps and bounced when they became a Balanced(ghey) Man chapter :evil:

Meant no harm, all i wanted to was to pillage some appetizers and booze from their alumni night :D

yeah, the sig eps at SMS (now Missouri State) were forced to become a balanced man chapter after getting raided by the FBI for drugs and shit... lmao.

That's not where I went, but just up the road from where I went to high school.

When I was home on break I made a beer run with a friend from high school. Apparently, he and the party store owner were members of the same frat and did their magic handshake while I was trying to pay for the beer. He honest to god looked at me and said,"You probably shouldn't seen that." I gave him the javaguru patented eye roll. I knew Andy as the sycophant hanger on in high school, I wasn't giving him "cool points" for a magic handshake. :rolleyes:

you DAMN right! too many things get forgotten or relaxed as to conform to the new way of frat life. Some things aren't to be changed, it's called "tradition"! The no hazing policies make me puke. There is no honor or pride to be in a frat that gets a helicopter and drops bids all over campus to anyone who wants to join. Use the challenge, use the handshake to check people you don't know, period.

Btw, I recited the preamble to CW the other day. It's been litterally 30 years since I learned it. It was required to know it cold and to be able to recite it at any time, drunk, sober, in front of 100 people or one-on-one, it wasn't an option. I said it pretty well, missed a few words, but 99% of it was still right on.

And, yes, they both offered up the verbal challenge to me when they first learned what frat I was in, to their credit.....
