I've always had trouble adding mass to my arms. My back and chest grow VERY easily. I have to back off training these bodyparts so I can keep good proportions.
I just gained close to half an inch on my arms this last month and I'm not on any drugs at the moment.
I realised that I was obsessed with my arm measurements. I would focus on increasing my arm measurements and I realised that I didn't pay as much attention on performance in the gym like i would for Chest and Back. I would always aim for a 5lb increase on my Bench or barbell rows or deadlift or squat. I never did this for my arm training. This was the missing link.
As soon as I focused on improving my performance, I saw results. Now I aim for a better Lying tricep extension and a better Barbell curl as opposed to saying "I want an extra 3/4 of an inch".
