Ford lost 12.7 BILLION dollars in 2006... how will that affect me buying a Tacoma?

do you want to know why ford and every other american car company is hurting? it is because of the unions.

these car companies are hemorrhaging money, because they have to pay pensions for every motherfucker that has ever worked and retired from those places.

the unions are costing them billions.

1st off its not because of the Union, its because of the company's dumb azz.
Wile Japan was working on gas saving cars the big 3 was making bigger and bigger gas guzzlers along with other things.
As long as Americans are buying foreign cars are Middle class will be going to sh*t why is it that Ford was not in this spot lets say about ohhhhh 12 years ago, lots has happen since then and the company is loving the fact that people think its because of the union.
If you go to the dealers and look around you will note that Ford or any other one of them really have no eye candy except for one or 2, ware if you go to a foreign dealer Hmmmm.....
Look at Chrysler, Ben's gets in the Mix and walla all of a sudden they have stile again and sales starts to go up again and they are Union too bro....
People don't know all the fact, sure there are some chirruped people in some of these Groups but that is with everything.
I still think the F150 looks the best out of all of them and a plus is it is built in THE USA.
Support American Workers And BUY UNION MADE IN AMERICA !!!!!!!!!!!

they are in the dumper because the only vehicle they make that anyone wants to buy is gas guzzleing trucks....their passenger car line is ancient and dull.

their fuel effiecient small cars are sub standard compared to toyota and honda...or even hyunandi (sp?) and kia, for that matter.
hyundai is in the top 3 soon

Correct

how about build a good vehicle and quit expecting customers to buy because it's american? i don't give a shit if it is made in china, if it's the best car available for the money than that's the one i am going to get. maybe the american car companies need to spend less money in their bullshit advertising and put some money into making a good vehicle. sell more and make more instead of crying about unions. leave it to scumbag american car companies to start pointing their fingers at unions, benefits and such. assholes will kill their own mothers to make the bottom line look better to please their investors.

Let's look at one review at the ford crown victoria which i know is a horrible car because i drove one like it.

Review: This car is a waste of my money. Its design both inside and out looked good at the beginning of the year but now looks like it is from 2000. Breaks down often. Please don't don't make the same mistake I did.
Favorite Features: Interior is okay with some very helpful features.
Suggested Improvements: Totally redesigned and updated exterior along with better warranty.

No kidding why most of my mechanic friends drive japanese cars

opinions vary!

i had the mercury equivalent of the crown vic, a '95 grand marquis. i put over 135K trouble free miles on this car...it was the best long distance road trip car i have ever owned...quick, quiet and comfortable, excellent support from the front seats...no other car i have owned could i go 12 hours and 700 miles and not climb out ready for a valium and a neck/back adjustment. :artist:

unfortunately, my beloved grand marquis is an example of ford's policy of letting a good design live too long without a thorough make over....this is basically the same car since 1992.

ford did the same mistake with the tarus/sable...they ran an award winning (at it's time of introduction in 1986) design into the ground by milking it far too long past it's usefull life span. if ford had revised the tarus/sable as often as toyota revises the camry it would still be a top seller.

I think the toyota lineup is kind of boring
the FJ cruiser is kind of cool
their trucks will be good

the pretty toyota's are lexus's

true, not the most exciting looking, i will admit....but well built, supremely reliable with excellent resale value! pity ford or GM cannot claim even 2 (or even 1) of these 3!! :worried:

i'm always amazed at how toyota (and nissan) can take the basic camry or maxima body shell, tweak it a little, and make it look so much better as a lexus or infiniti entry level model! :p

ya know, it's funny......every time toyota restyles the camry i think the model it replaced looks better....but the newer one always seems to grow on me given a few years.
