Ford lost 12.7 BILLION dollars in 2006... how will that affect me buying a Tacoma?

Ford whines like this every so often. Ford still has more money in reserves than any other US company. They like to whine as a power play against the union. I don't know how it will affect the price of a Tacoma, except that if you marry me I could get you a big discount on the A plan, because my dad retired from there.
not true, they are going under

No, they are just disinvesting. They lost so much money this year because
of all the massive restructuring they are doing, buying out employees to retire early, etc.

Because they sold massive amounts of junk bonds to raise the money.

They are in a shit house with a never-ending poop hole.

do you want to know why ford and every other american car company is hurting? it is because of the unions.

these car companies are hemorrhaging money, because they have to pay pensions for every motherfucker that has ever worked and retired from those places.

the unions are costing them billions.
20 or 30 years from now, when you are rapidly approaching retirement age, your viewpoint on pensions may change.....

they are in the dumper because the only vehicle they make that anyone wants to buy is gas guzzleing trucks....their passenger car line is ancient and dull.

their fuel effiecient small cars are sub standard compared to toyota and honda...or even hyunandi (sp?) and kia, for that matter.

Guess what? Toyotas that are sold in America have more parts built in America than a Ford.

The fusion just passed the camry as the best selling midsize car in the US. They aren't doing as badly as they want you and their employees to believe.
