Forced to PM workout

Question is: should a post workout shake as late as 7:30 pm contain the same amount of dextrose as it would at anytime earlier in the day? Being forced to workout late and don't want to take this dextrose if its too late in the day to do so. Getting plenty of carbs from the 5 previous meals up until workout.

So is the dex post workout an absolute necessity regardless of the time of day or is it going to be a problem since bedtime is ~10:30
:)

Definitely a must.... post-workout, more than any other time of the day, is when the body will devour the simple carbs you feed it.... it needs it. If you're worried about fat gain, don't.... only thing to worry about is your furnace may still be going by the time you're ready for bed, making it more difficult to sleep.

I would keep it the same personally.

I would keep it the same as well. I don't think the time of day you take in your carbs is quite as crucial as some have said. So long as you still eat the same thing every day and are only changing up the order slightly, I really don't see a problem.

Even if there IS something to post workout carbs affecting your fat... the lack of them will affect your muscle much more.

Keep the status quo going.

I work out late as well, mostly... and i'd limit carbs more in the am then ramp them up to your workout.

Totally depends on what you're trying to accomplish though...

without knowing anything else: I'd say have a mini "PWO" shake before training... after training have a big platter of meats and solid carbs, much more satisfing to me at least.
