for those who use RU-486 (Mifepristone)

I think it's important to know the difference.

You have sex with a condom and it breaks - you can get yourself a morning after pill even if you have such beliefs that abortion is murder you don't have to feel that you are aborting - you are preventing the pregnancy from happening.

That said - people should also know that the RU486 is no joke and shouldn't be taken lightly, just because it's pill doesn't make it any less destructive, risky or painful.

:supercool

Maybe God wanted the condom to break!

Then why did God let scientists have the ablitity to understand hormones and to create birth control/ the morning after pill in the first place?

It takes between 2 and 3 days for the embryonic development, that starts with the fertilized egg which is still within the fallopian tube. That developing embryo travels down the tube for 2 to 3 days before reaching the uterus.

The morning after pill is considered the pregnancy preventative after aware unsafe sex.

RU486 is specifically an abortion pill for after the feritilized agg makes it to the uterus.

Facts are facts - don't bring personal beliefs into it.

I have brought zero personal beliefs into it - please point one out if you can?

You said it yourself - 'fertalized egg.' Morning after is an abortaficient, and the typical birth control pill is also a potential one as they both prevent implantation of the fertalized embryo/fetus/whatever you care to describe it as.

Further, all of these methods are unecessary in a committed relationship and the side effects can be avoided through the use of natural family planning / symto-thermal method. Even the doctor who created 'the pill' assents that artificial birth control is not necessary.

And before you accuse me of being an ignorant male, keep in mind that I've walked as far on this issue as any male can having worked for over a year as a crisis pregnancy counselor. I was required to learn about all of the birth control methods - artificial and natural - along with the side effects they have on women.

I've taken women's urine and tested it for pregnancy, I have listened to them recount their own personal horrors, and seen the fear in their eyes - and done my best to make give them comfort and help them to make the best decision for both themselves and their child - even in cases where they have had abortions in the past.
