For those of you with breast implants....

Thanks for all the reply everyone! I'm concerned over the complications (infection, leaking, contracture, and autoimmune responses) so I'm taking plenty of time to think about it...I you guys don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

Damm I thought 8k was expensive.

I went to a plastic surgery expo today. I found Dr. that does free conuslts so I gave him my number. I am debating gel or saline still. The gel is typicaly 2K more but then you never have to stress about them.

My office said between $5000-5800. If gels were available in the US I would be getting those. Everything I have read on the girls who have been doing the study for them say they love them and they feel and look natural which to me would be worth the extra 2k. You are lucky they are available in CA, who knows when the FDA will approve them here. I am getting excited about my consult now, Tuesday can't come soon enough!!! ;)

Hi Ms BH,
If you don't mind me asking, you said you have partials, whats the story with those, is it half/half over AND under? I tried to look that up but couldnt find it. could you elaborate?

not my surgeon but same procedure. Ive never had rippling, sagging or any problems but i was really insanely careful during recovery- like no chest workouts for 6 wks post-op, wore sports bra to bed every night for 1st year & didnt let my now ex-boyfriend touch them for 3 months..LOL

Im 5'6 and a light weight (110 lbs).....I got mine done 3 yrs ago and went from an AA32/34 to a med-full C34/32 somtimes....they are perfect for my body (I have a 21/22 inch waist). You have to keep in mind that implants always look smaller then what ur cup size says as well. I got high profiles though BEHIND the muscle. I look more like a full B from the front but a C from the side....I love mine!!!

The complications are there but affect such a small amount of patients. You can have complications with any surgery but try not to stress about it.
I am in your area and I know the good doctors around here are a minimum $6500 to max $8500. I had my first set in "98" and the price then was $5000 I changed them in 2005 and the rate was $6900. Since I chose the same doc I did not have to pay full price and the surgery was less complicated because the pockets were already there from the previous implants. I went with the high profile saline implants because I wanted to go bigger and these type have a narrow base with a high protrusion. This let me go up to a 32DDD/34DD, yes some say this is too big but when you have had implants for 7 years you get so use to the size you think they are small on yourself. I am very happy with these ones and It has been a almost a year and they have settled well and I'm happy with the size. I am under the muscle and this is the only way I would go because of maintaining a low bodyfat I did not want to see the seam of the implant or the rippling effect of the bag.
Good luck with your decision and just keep up on the research, there is so much info on the net.
