For that cut and ripped look...

Hey Everybody - I recently became a member here.
I usually just read posts and learn that way since I really dont know to much.
Anyways - I've made some good muscle gains (The Secert - which I learned from here - is to EAT). However now I want to look all cut and ripped so I can show off my muscles.

So my questions are:
How many sets and reps should I do Numbers wise to tone up?
How long should my rest intervals be after each set?
Should I keep lifting the same weight or lower the lbs of the weights I lift?
And do I Really have to do cardio to tone up? lol

something ive learned here that is stressed ALMOST as much as eating is "you cant necessarily tone up" or spot loseweight ;)

It's not a question of how you lift...it's going to be about diet and cardio... the things you have to remember are, to lose body fat you are going to lose muscle mass too. How much muscle you lose will depend on how far under maintenance you are dropping cals, and what type of cals you are taking in.

To be safe, I would drop to 500 below maintenance each day, but no more. This will ensure you losing about a pound a week. Any more than this and youre going to see muscle go faster, anything less and youre not going to see the results youre looking for. Keep your lifting the same as you do now, don't worry about rest intervals, and definately keep heavier weights going, this will also help to ensure you keeping most of your muscle gains.

As for your last question, unless youre some kind of genetic miracle, youre probably going to have to do cardio, unless you can eat that little and feel comfortable with it...most can't. Look into HIIT (high intensity interval training) if you don't like doing cardio too much, you'll be able to be in and out within 15-20 minutes and have a very effective fat burning workout. Good luck...

Welcome to the site!! :)

For getting cut, the answer is in your diet and cardio. Adjust your diet to make sure that it is very clean, and add cardio to your weight program.

Thanks for everyone who responded.

So there is no ideal tempo, number of sets, amount of weight to lift or amount of time to rest after each set to cut?

Just keep lifting, diet & cardio? Sounds good to me.
Thanks again
