For my ASVAB...

I guess it is ok....The best feild to be in right now is the medic and i think they requir over 100...see if you can try again?
Good job though i hear it is hard...what service are you trying to enlist in?
 
that is good , you should be able to do any job you want. although it doesnt really go by your final score , they use waht is called a line score to determine what u are qualed for.

lol @ require over a 100 , it only goes to 99 . its the thought tht counts

It's different depending on what branch you're going into. I know the Air Force takes the raw ASVAB score and converts it and rates it for their reference ... I don't know what the other branches do.

the navy does the same thing
 
i don't know yet.

So far it's nat. guard, but have coast guard reserve and air force reserve in mind.

we have alot of peeps get out and go to the air guard , they like it apparently so you may enjoy it
 
You actually take the ASVAB again in MEPs.. I'm not sure if you take one in Boot Camp.. but the one you take at MEPs is the one that goes on your record and the one the base your job off of.. I got a 88 on my first one (practice) and I got an 88 on the real one.. I'm going in as Hospital Corpsman for the NAVY.. Razor if you were serious about joining I'd suggest Air Force or NAVY.. I'm shipping out for boot camp May 3. and I've been in DEP for 9 months. If you have any questions you can PM me and I'll do the best I can to help you.. oo And with my 88 I was able to pick any job I wanted, so I'd imagine you could also or come close to anything.

It was MEPS. Yes i'm taking 2-3 months to mull things over. I want to pick somehting that (1) still allows me a life cuz I have a bus to run, and family depends on it and (2) allows the military best usage of my brain.

If thye just want rambo soldiers, the'yre better off with 21 y/o's. My best asset is my exp. and brains. So we'll c. But i still wanna shoot people. :)

navy offered me 2 year active. but i have no desire to sleep on a bunk for 2 years. no thanks.

I can understand on the whole bunk thing.. That was the only draw back when I joined that I didn't want to have to do.. But usually you're not on the boat but maybe every 2-3 years I think.. and You do about a 6 month tour on the boat.. Which still kind of sucks I suppose.. Only reason I chose NAVY over other branches is I'm going to try and be a NAVY SEAL.. so we'll see how that goes over..

yeah but you live on the boat, even when docked, for 2 years. I could never afford a place off-boat at navy salary (what? $1.5k/month?). For me: chances r it'd be san diego.

Lestat: For 33 it ain' bad. Like i'm supposed to remember photosynthesis, amoebas, a2+b2=c2, 2piR, 1/2bh, and what (x+2)(x-1) comes out to (it's x2+x-2 btw).

I think it's different upon your job.. I went to San Diego with my best friend where his brother was stationed and they all had their own places.. Some had beach houses.. After your in for a year or something you can live off base and they give you extra money to live off base, it doesn't come out of your regular pay. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/militarypaycharts/a/06bah.htm ... Theres the rates depending on where you live.. They give you enough to get a place with a roomate and money for food and stuff.. I'd never join the NAVY if I had to live on a damn boat my whole life lol.. fuck that.. This site http://usmilitary.about.com/index.htm?terms=Military has some of the best information for all branches if you have any questions.. It could prob help you out more than the recruiters..

Wow. I did know that about the bah. I was offered 2 years active, 4 reserve i think. But i had no desire to stay cooped up on a ship 24/7 making $1500 a month. It'd drive me nuts from boredom.

Ya, I signed up for 6 years active, 2 years reserve.. I've never heard of someone doing 2 years active and 4 years reserve though?

I think your talking about his gt score. If your asvab is 83 that would be like a 120gt or something. 83 is a good score.

What is the gt score? Also, ya I'm pretty sure everyone is enlisted for 8 years, the most comman is 4 years active, 2 year active - reserve and 2 year non active reserve.

you're going in? which branch? talk to people before you sign anything.
 
go in the national guard. if you like it that much, you can always go active. if you hate active duty, you can't go guard/reserves until your time is up.

i am a total guard bum. i have gone to many military schools because of them. in fact, i go to another in may.

one of my Mariens is transfering to the gaurd...$20K signing bonus and $2k referral bonuses...FUCK why doesnt the gov give money to the people who can USE it and NEED it.
