Florida in October How is it?

I might be going to Miami or FT Lauderdale next Oct. I know that`s off season, I don`t really care about that too much. Is there anything I should look for before I make plans. We`re bringing our 2 year old. Not to Disney. Just want to hang out and relax somewhere that`s not New Jersey. For a week.

How`s November is it better than Oct?

Yes I guess the weather is most important but also is`nt it a vacation spot to a certain extent? Is it dead in those months?

I just came back from the Bahamas and the Huge pool they had was occupied by my wife and I alone. lol

I`ve been there many times but not in those months. I was actually leaning towards FT Laud. I figured a couple trips to the beach, at the pool some driving here and there and vacations over. lol Not really into the whole Disney adventure just yet.

Unless... Myrtle beach SC was another option I had.

I would keep going south to Key West. Just remember that Sept. -Oct. is prime hurricane time down south.

I`ve been down there about 10 times but in July and August only. I know it`s crazy. lol

Mytle Beach is nice during Oct.. The weather is still warm enough to get out, but not too hot. Plenty of things for the family to do and at that time not real crowded. You might want to avoid it the first week of Oct. though, that is the fall bike rally.

Myrtle beach is a trashy dump that brings all the Carolina hill-rats to the beach. It's like Panama City for the Carolinas, or low-rent jersey shore.

I know you mean well bro. My standards are probably lower than yours. lol Seriously, I just want some fun and relaxation really in the sun. Just away from New Jersey for a week. I actually have a choice (timeshare) of anywhere in the US and even caribbean- Hawaii etc. I just have to GET there, So I was thinking the least priced and close travel is Fl or SC.

Just came back from the Bahamas and it was DEAD there but still had a GREAT time with the wife (only) no kid. Went to the beach/pool, dinners, lunches, walked around... that`s it. I don`t need clubs or the grand canyon.

You can drive around down there and look at cool neigborhoods and have a good time - beach is always nice - and there are plenty of not terribly expensive yet decent quality restaurants.

Get 5 blocks off the beach in Myrtle and it is a trailer park.
