Quick Question-
How do floor presses generally compare to one's flat bench? More, less, the same? Any difference between raw and shirted?

i don't do floor presses for the reason it did not seem to significantly aid my bench as dramatically as boards do. in fact i had no real progress on my bench as a result of doing floor presses

you should try them and decide for yourself if it helps you

i always heard it should be less because
you don't have lats % legdrive involved.

oh you have your lats everytime your benching, floor or not.

leg drive is minimized though.

for the floor press you must have an incredibly strong bottom range to be good at it. that why i believe its a great exercise for those who are weak in the bottom of the bench. i dont think it can be compared to board presses becuase it works two totally different parts of the bench.

So if a bencher generally failed close to lockout, they could expect to have a Floor press equal to, or higher than their flat?

Does anyone out there floorpress more than they flat?

Thanks for all the responses thus far...

liftbig, won't argue with that.

i like floorpresses don't know why, maybe because when my floorpress is down, my bench is down.

however i've been trying a MM workout and miss floorpresses is there anyway i can work them in or should i just forget about them?

im not an expert on mm style training, but i would so you couldnt work it in.

do you compete, wear a bench shirt?

i'm a raw bencher and don't compete... ......yet.

just got into PL'ing and love the streng th gains. just trying to get stronger and reading what you guys are doing is real inspiring.
