In my past comp diets I've used flax oil as my fat source. Can't stand the taste of it so it always went into my shakes or replaced olive oil as the "oil" in my vinegar & oil salad dressings. But then, FOR COMPETITION... i've put it directly on a piece of boiled chicken and eaten the whole thing out of a plastic baggie. 
I prefer Udo's Choice as my flax. And def make sure its refrigerated once you open it. If it smell suspect, toss it.
