ok i just got some fish oil and flax oil yesterday  and it tastes horrible but that's ok sacrifice is just a part of the bigger picture.

anyways, i was just wondering when do i take this stuff?

i am currently lifting 3x/week

cardio and some sauna sitting 2x/week

do abs on all 5 days.

should i take a spoon of each of these as soon as i wake up? should i take them separately? should i take them immediately before workout? immediately after workout?

should i just throw a spoon of both in my protein shake and down it in the shake itself?

what do you guys suggest?

thanks in advance :)

they can be taken together, take them with food.
fish oil should be capped.

most of the best benefits come from PPAR mediated effects, though you do need polyunsaturates in your diet.

give sesamax a try (sesamin is 10 times as potent as a ppar alpha agonist as fish oil).

though still reccomend both fish and flax, in moderate amounts (capped and enterically coated fish oil is a MUST)

ok sounds good to take them together, with food. Does it matter WHEN i take them? preworkout? post-workout? or is it just good to take them pretty much daily anytime?

macro:

Do you have any info on how much. I know the omega 3 to 6 ration is 1:3, adn sesame seed oils only contain omega 6 oils. Flax contains omega 3, so what ration would be a good ratio to get a good blend of omega6 and omega3 using sesamax or sesame seed oil. Geez, I hope I have all this correct. Please educate me if I'm wrong.

here is a study that talks about the synergistic affects of taking fish oil and sesamax together.

Ide T, Hong DD, Ranasinghe P, Takahashi Y, Kushiro M, Sugano M.
Interaction of dietary fat types and sesamin on hepatic fatty acid oxidation in rats. Biochim Biophys Acta. 2004 Jun 1;1682(1-3):80-91.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/...t_uids=15158759

"The interaction of sesamin, one of the most abundant lignans in sesame seed, and types of dietary fats affecting hepatic fatty acid oxidation was examined in rats. Rats were fed purified experimental diets supplemented with 0% or 0.2% sesamin (1:1 mixture of sesamin and episesamin), and containing 8% of either palm, safflower or fish oil for 15 days. Among the groups fed sesamin-free diets, the activity of various fatty acid oxidation enzymes was higher in rats fed fish oil than in those fed palm and safflower oils. Dietary sesamin increased enzyme activities in all groups of rats given different fats. The extent of the increase depended on dietary fat type, and a diet containing sesamin and fish oil in combination appeared to increase many of these parameters synergistically. In particular, the peroxisomal palmitoyl-CoA oxidation rate and acyl-CoA oxidase activity levels were much higher in rats fed sesamin and fish oil in combination than in animals fed sesamin and palm or safflower oil in combination. Analyses of mRNA levels revealed that a diet containing sesamin and fish oil increased the gene expression of various peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation enzymes and PEX11alpha, a peroxisomal membrane protein, in a synergistic manner while it increased the gene expression of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation enzymes and microsomal cytochrome P-450 IV A1 in an additive manner. It was concluded that a diet containing sesamin and fish oil in combination synergistically increased hepatic fatty acid oxidation primarily through up-regulation of the gene expression of peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation enzymes."

I read these things and get a vague understanding of what they mean. Does that one say that a combination of the two promotes fat loss?

YES.

as well as promoting a lean bulk.(increasing fatty acid utilization and decreasing lipid deposition)
