Flat bench & Board Presses

Sergeant

New member
I will be doing flat bench work ranging from 5 to 3 sets and reps form 3 to 1 rep. My question is what other assistance should I use. I do light speed work when I work shoulders and tris on a seperate day at least 3 days apart. On my tri day I also do 3 sets of varying close grip bench with bands. I do not like to work tris & shoulders with my bench work. Can I do board presses at my sticking point after I do my flat bench work or would this be to much? Should I do Board presses on my tri day with a close grip or are board presses only done with a wider grip?

i dont really see away getting around working tri's after bench..... just pick an exercise and do 6-8 sets of 8-12 reps....... do heavy lats.... and light shoulders.

reverse it on the day you do speed bench....... ie:light bench, heavy tricep, light lat, heavy shoulder

I agree

you might be kind of burned out to go 1-3 reps on flat then the same on boards.warm up without the boards and then when you get to you work sets add boards and give it all you got.if you want to hit the chest a little more do some d/b work at the end of the workout, when you attack your weakpoint with the boards you want to be fresh.you'll be fine since you do your speed work at your other workout.but if you feel like you need to stimulate your chest more do some xtra work after the boards.....Exodus has also given you good comments on lats and shoulders.....
