Flash back thread - Pager codes

back when every one had pagers instead of cell phones every one had a code to let people know it was them paging. What was yours and what did it mean, why did you pick those numbers?

I used 76 for the year it was born.

LOL, I remember carrying a pager on my belt eventhough it wasn't activated, and even tucking my shirt in so it could be seen.

Ha...I had to have the clear/color ones. It was blue.

I just turned in a short story for a writing class. It took place in the late 90's and the characters used pagers. I used pager codes like 843, 14 and others, but without the LCD font they seem like meaningless numbers. I hope the teacher gets it.

Did you create words using numbers and have to turn it around to understand the word?

Oh, my other code was 88, which sort of look like to BB (short for bumblebee).

yes, 843= bye, 14=hi, 11775012124=im sorry, etc.....
