First Two Week's Progress

Simmers

New member
Well I am not sure if my progess these two weeks with my upper body workout and new diet is that good or not, but I am rather impressed...

Starting Stats:
5'11"
141 Lbs
10 1/2" Biceps
7" Wrists

End of Two Weeks
5'11"
147 Lbs
11 3/4" Biceps
7 1/4" Wrists

The Biceps and Wrists were the only noticable change, but I put on 6 lbs in 2 weeks along with over an inch on my biceps and some on my wrists... It made me happy... I guess now I get to go back to the iron haha.. :)

I find it a little a hard to believe that you added 1.25 inches in your arms in two weeks considering you usually need to pack on about 10-15 pounds of lean mass to grow your arms an inch. I guess you could be holding a lot more glycogen in your arms though...

Results are something that you can't really see over the short term. To say you gained 6 pounds in two weeks doesn't really reflect reality. In reality, you probably gained 5 pounds of water from bulking and one pound of muscle (at best). I'm not trying to discourage you, but just want to make sure you aren't expecting too much too fast. It really does take years...

A guy with decent genetics, hard work and alot of food can naturally put on 25-30lbs of muscle in a year, with some fat too of course. Can be done. I've done it, and so have others. So basically you can put on 40-50lbs of BW with 60-75% of it lean muscle. Of course you have to accept the fat gain that comes with it too.

I do agree with his post regarding the 1" increase in biceps. In 2 weeks, dont even think on a steroid cycle you could do that in 2 weeks. Could it be that you measured off the first time at 10 1/2"?? I just find it hard to believe you arms would be that small....not trying to bother you or anything, but 10.5"?? Or perhaps in your exitement to measure yourself this time...you subconsciously held the tape looser...perhaps on an angle??

not to mention that maybe when he first weighed yourself, he could have been dehydrated, or hadn't eaten much that day. and then when yhe weighed himself the second time, he could have drank more fluids. body weight can fluctuate as much as 8lbs in a day simply due to hydration.

I definitely second that on hydration affecting BW. I've been 208lbs the last week and a half at the gym. I weighed myself a couple times before this at 210lbs. I have gotten increasingly stronger and bigger since so I haven't lost anything. If I drink a BIG protein shake before working out and make sure I stay heavily hydrated all day I could hit the scale at 211-212, but it would just be water weight.

I also find it hard to believe someone training could put 1.25" on their arms in 2 weeks. I've put .75" in 6 weeks of training, but only .5" is muscle mass above and beyond what I've had before. So I regained .25" lost muscle mass and actually built only .5" new muscle mass, which is very good, but you get the point.

Gaining that much on your arms regardless of how underweight you may be would put you in the Casey Viator Colorado experiment class of sickass results.

But hey, maybe you have great genetics and they just need to be realized. Arnold was a string bean when he started.

Good luck.
