hello everyone this is my first post woohoo lol. i just had some questions about creatine usage.

first off with some info if it might help at all.

14 going on 15 in a few weeks lol

weight: 130 pounds
height: 5'10
max bench: 110
max squat: 165
max clean: 105
max push press: 115
max incline: 100

going to be playing football next year and im currently working out with the team for next year.

we are on a four day work out period.

mondays and wednsdays:
bench press/squats - two big exercises
bag jumping, crunches, dips, tricep extentin, down and outs, dot drill

tuesdays and fridays:
pushpress or incline/cleans with full squat - two big exercises
bag jumping, crunches, dot drill, tricep extention, down and outs

we switch around with the smaller exercises. also do crunches and pushups.

we warm each day with two laps around the track and stretches for our hips.

(if i left anything out let me know)

my older brother suggested it to me who is experienced with creatine and other products. he said i should try it for 2 weeks to a month to see if i like it and want to keep using it.
i was wondering like what types of side effects there were if there were any. i wouldnt think there would be any since its supposed to be all natural. is it also healthy for me to be taking it at a younger age? i have heard that it is a waste of money becuase most of it is gone before it gets to the muscle. (assuming your taking the powder) i saw a post here that powder is better then liquid and has also been recomended by my brother. i also wanted to know if i start taking it and use it alot will it be hard to get off of it? i only want to get about 150 to 180 pound weight group and if i do get there will it be all right to get off creatine and continue to work out regulary. i dont plan on being very big like wrestler type big.

sry if any of the questions are stuiped or whatever. thank you anyways lol

whats up bro! nice to hear a younger post about something other than how many a-bombs a day should i take. key at your age is diet. you need to eat eat and eat. run the creatine at 10 grams a day for a couple months, right after your workout. off days take it in the morning. the only sides i have ever known are a little water retention. i think creatine is a very safe and effective supplement. do a search on creatine and formulate how you want to cycle it. i run it post steroid cycle only, but i know many people run it several months with a break for a couple weeks then back on. goodluck!

thx man.

i have heard that taking over 5 grams would just be a waste cuase the muscles can only absorb so much...something like that lol. you say a couple of months with 10 grams to start out with but i have heard just about 2 to 3 weeks with 10 grams....any opions?

At your weight 5 grams is plenty. water retention is not a side effect - it's supposed to do that. creatine forces water into the cells. take it post workout with some simple carbs and protien.

alright

i was also reading up on loading and cycling. it said for beginers to load up with 20 grams each day post workout. since i am smaller would anywhere between 5 to 10 grams be fine for that first week of loading before i start my cycling process? also i only work out mondays through thursdays so would running, pushups, crunches with some light weights be fine?

thx again:)

I wouldnt even load it brother, you'll see the same results in just an extended period of time. If you do load it, I would go 15grams max and not all post workout, split it up through the day..... such as...

5 grams right after you wake up
5 grams pre- workout
5 grams w/ post workout shake

i just wanted to say that creatine isnt really the keyto getting bigger. Like someone said earlier, diet is. You should post your diet.

Bro is spliting the Creatin through the day more effective?

100% sure, no. it makes more sense to split it up and keep plasma levels up through the day, but if you're looking for a yes or no answer, you'll get a diverse mix of opinions.

I used to do basically the same thing yellow jacket posted, but now I've cut out the middle and just do the morning and post workout, and it seems to be just as good. Just keep in mind, if you are doing alot of cardio activity for football, you need to drink alot of water especially if you are using creatine.

i drink water throughout the day.

i have gained 7 pounds so far and the more i have been eating it seems that i become hungry more and more often. is it supposed to be like that? my brother suggested eating alot of turkey sandwhiches and tuna for protien along with other meats.

Make tuna, turkey, lean red meat the staple of your diet. Worry about getting your protein for sources such as these. Use your protein shakes and creatine secondary to the above.

thank you!:D

probably one of my last questions will be where should i get it at and what type of brand should i get? what would be best for beginers such as myself.

Bro i have heard many good things about V12,but they at the shop didnt have it,so i bought Swole instead.Im going to combine it with Creatin Monohydrate.

If you have never tried creatine I would buy something cheap like just plain creatine monohydrate. See if you like it and how it works for you before buying something expensive like swole, v12, or synthevol.

cool thx a lot guys!! i dont have any more questions at the moment but is there anything i should know?
nothing wrong with a little creatine at your age . ck out eating red meats like some of the cheaper steaks their packed with natural creatine no b.s. just dont abuse the creatines that you can by at health stores. to much to little to late white ice

take 5g creatine 30-45 min before your workout with water.... (and some carbs... pretzels/bread)...

then take another 5g creatine w/ protein shake after your workout.. then eat a meal 1hr later... that should build ya up a bit...

go to walmart and get EAS HP Strength creatine or something like that.... its only like $10 - $15 and lasts a while... make sure its the pure creatine mono.... check the nutrition facts...

Hey, there! Welcome to the board! Good work on your training, now, regarding creatine..

I use Swole (soon to try v-12 with regular creatine monohydrate). I've never used traditional creatine, so I can't tell if my lack of sides is due to that fact, or that I'm just lucky. The only sides I've heard about are cramping or dehydration-which, again, I've never experienced. It's also advised to stay away from it if you have a pre-existing kidney condition.

Now most recommend 2 months on, 1 month off. There's nothing, as far as I know, outwardly dangerous by staying on constantly..but doing so can supposedly stop natural production of creatine. So I say better safe than sorry.

Now as for Tricreatine Malate (swole/v12) vs. Plain Creatine Monohyrdate:

Some love v12 and swole, yet others see them as expensive hype. I personally have had pretty good results with swole, and I can't wait to try a v12 + monohydrate stack.

Lastly, don't expect creatine to be any miracle supplement that it's made out to be. It won't gain you strength, it'll, perhaps, help you gain strength yourself by allowing you to workout harder, and longer. Pump out that one extra rep. Do an extra set before you colapse ;)

Hope that was informative enough. Good luck!
