Finding inspiration in weird places

Most licenses don't require a phd. So, get your masters degree, get licensed, and then you can be a therapist.
Well I figured my PhD is at least half paid, so I might as well try to finish that since it's a higher degree instead of starting all over with a masters...

Neither are you with your itt tech degree bitch.
STFU %$^@#$!@!&*@#$

I've got news for you. There are 49 other states!
CT Requires PhD
DPH: Psychologist Licensure Requirements
NY requires PhD
NYS Psychology:License Requirements
WA requires PhD
Psychologist Licensing - Washington State Dept of Health
Oregon requires PhD
Board of Psychologist Examiners Applying For Licensure in Oregon

and so on...

I'm not sure why you would need to start all over with a Masters when a Masters is generally required in order to get into a PhD Program here. How are you going to be accepted toa PhD program without first completing a masters?

And yes, to be a Psychologist, you do require a PhD.

But to be a therapist, you do not require a PhD, just a Masters.

Yeah, they're not going to let you do any sort of phd shit without your masters. Even if you already started in Timbuktu.

Therapist does not = psychologist

But seriously, don't take my or smurf's word for it. It's not like we don't work with both types of providers on a regular basis...

Hmmm now you got me thinking, in many latin american countries and Europe there is a degree between bachelors and masters, that is what I have, in Europe it is acceptable to go from that degree straight to PhD (which is what I did) so if I graduate I would have a PhD and not a masters, the licensure requirements do say doctoral and make no metion of masters so I dont think I would need it since I would have the PhD.... what a mess :(

Go for it girlie! Don't keep waiting till 'life' is a little less hectic to go to school cause that might take a long time if it ever feels like that. Does hubby have degrees, wanna go to school?
